It's possible on both this one and the last one. All you need is an adapter that splits the micro usb connection, one for power and another for whatever it is you want to connect. Ethernet or storage are the most useful additions.

Well it depresses me that we are only seing the 4k max down to $35, but I guess that is where it is this year. It makes me pause and think do I need or is it greed.. $35 is not enough to jump, but if you need a new remote, it is close to that price anyway..

Seriusly folks, 8gigs (4 after OS) sucks.. Get yourself a OTG USB cable or better a hub rj45 adapter and add a usb stick to system storage.. No its not perefect (USB 2),, but the cube or the shield also have their issues.. Nothing is perfect.. Adding a 32gig USB on a otg cable is a good place to start... Format it as system memory and these things will serve you well. It is so disapointing they could not add just 8gb to the 4KMax storage.. 2gb ram and 16 GB storage would be what I would like to see.

What exactly do you expect? They dropped the standard 4k stick to $25 as usual. They weren't going to make that and the max $25. The max is worth it for $10 more with wifi6, 2gb ram, and better SoC. It's not a hard choice.

Moores law.. I want twice as much at half the price every 18 months.. Now dont get me wrong.. I have bought 1 of eveything since streaming started as a thing.. And I do recognize I will get 1 just to test.. I probably will get one on this dea! but I am not happy about it. I wanted $25.. Whaaa.. I am a babby..


The first fire stick had 8gb, and now 5yrs or so later we still have the same storage,, depressing.. I can live with a cubes 16gb (11 after OS) on a device, but the 8 (4 after OS) is hard. Having a OTG cable and or a hub works but is at best inelagant... just too many wires and conections that can drop powwer or data when any vibration happens. The cube always has room when I use it.. What if that 20% off the $60 MSRP on a 4K MAX trade in deal that is perpetualy offered.. No its not quite cheap enough yet so there is nothing to get excited about just yet.. I will wait for the BF cube sale to use my 20% trade ibn on..

I could understand app migration might be an issue but deleting and reinstalling an app can often be faster and better than migration due to how it's programmed. It's simpler to be able to move selected apps but typically if I want to use an app on external storage formatted as internal, I'll delete off internal and reinstall that app on external for a variety of reasons but mainly file integrity. Maybe the kinks are worked out now but I won't be able to know till I test it, I purchased this on the performance improvements alone as a portable media device and my opinion is just that. I've never attempted migration on previous generations and I do have a fast internet connection. Maybe if you're on a slow DSL connection I could see it being annoying, but then again you're probably not using Wifi 6 or watching Dolby Vision/HDR content if you're on a slow DSL connection. The only time this may not apply is if you're streaming content on your local network, which is even rarer when someone has a slow DSL connection as that content would have come from local backups.

I got $7 instant and $3 later just a few mins ago.

edit: The $3 as gift card looks instant, too. Couldn't tell at checkout since I already had some gc balance.

I mean not really. I just have a lot of apps that get used frequently and constantly deleting apps is pointless
