If OnePlus could have followed Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro pricing strategy, they would be in better shape than they are today.
The 9 Pro should have been $800 at launch (not $969) and the 9 at $500 (not $729). This would have continued the disruption that made OnePlus relevant player. Now, these discounts and after 6-months are resulting many thumbs down from SlickDeals.

Agree, the pricing is what set OP apart, and if they're approaching 1K at launch, it's not a great move.
But at $800 7months later, is this not slick?
I think the price is fine. I don't get why the hate. Pixel 6 and pro both have the same price but have either less ram or storage or both. Pixel 6 pro is $1000 with 12Gb of ram. Oneplus is essentially selling the same spec months ago!

i feel the same way. right now I am in the market for a top of line Android phone to prepare for ATT's shutdown of 3g next Feb. I narrowed down to only two brands, either pixel or oneplus. I then compared the pixel 6 vs oneplus 9, and pixel 6 pro vs oneplus 9 pro. I think oneplus phones have an edge in the aspects I care the most -- the CPU/RAM/STORAGE. Oneplus is also great for root if you care. Camera wise, pixel is definitely better. But to be honest, as an average guy in photography, the cameras from three years old phone are good enough for me.

Also, none of the OnePlus vouchers (e.g. Get $20 OFF on order over $300) are applying.

Love my 7pro, considering picking this up.

Still holding to my 5T. Curved screen is my turn off. Hoping 10 Pro has a flat (or near flat) screen.
