Yeah, for the ratchet people seem to often prefer the non fuel model because it's more compact. The impact here is "only" rated to 450 ft lbs, which is quite low compared to the high torque offerings. Great for lug nuts for certain though.

For anyone feeling stuck in a lineup due to investment in batteries - They make battery adapters on Amazon or eBay for like $20 to use dewalt batteries on milwaukee tools and vice Versa.

From the tools to the batteries, it's all old stuff, but still usable. The ratchet is still fine. That impact was a high torque model in its day, rated at 640 ft-lbs loosening -- it's several generations old, bulky and has no mode selection when compared to a modern mid-torque but still has some value. You could flip it open box, or use it for a while until a better M18 impact deal comes around and flip it lightly used, either way you'd get much of the cost of this kit back.

Is this good enough to take car lug nuts? That is all I need it for.

Yes, most lug buts are tightened to either 80lb to 120.( yes I understand there are exceptions) This should easily break it.

They're running so many deals now but only one makes sense for me and I've been told that it's been even cheaper in the past with a returnable item "hack", so I'll wait, as I don't need it right now (although it could have come in handy on a timing belt/water pump job I'm doing right now). 3/8" impact wrench, impact driver & hammer drill, all M12, $350. If it's offered with the drill being returnable, I'm getting it. I've done enough auto work to know that smaller and lighter is better, all other things being equal.

Is it brushless no but are loading performance by saving money on the set - no. This set gets the job done and is a gateway to other M12 and M18 tools or as supplemental set to a different platform. I'm a Dewalt guy but his this all I need for my home game automotive stuff.

I had similar thoughts. Picked this set up yesterday.

I currently got into the Makita system few months ago for my first time house projects, but i also do light auto work when the time comes.

I have dewalt power tools as well and have been debating switching to milwaukee but just not worth the cost. Think I have about 10-15 tools and 12 batteries or so. I do want an impact wrench to work on the cars and the ratchet would be nice. Did just buy the dewalt band saw but I have no use for it nor the batteries so that will be returned.

Tempting but the dewalt high torque impact is like 700 pounds and their ratchet is supposed to be coming out any day. (And I'm more invested in dewalt batteries)
Not a bad price though

Been waiting for probably two years now for a deal on the mid torque (650 ftlb) with a battery and charger set. Thinking about getting this, but I really wanted more torque. Thoughts?
