I would definitely get this one for the price over the II. The hinge is nice, but on the classic isn't as big of a deal as it is on the Big Joe. The mesh gasket might last longer, but functionally isn't going to make much difference, and you can always swap to a mesh gasket when the regular gasket is worn (some other companies sell them cheaper than the KJ one too). The top vent cap isn't really much of an upgrade, and you can always get a Smokeware one instead if you wanted for not too much. So overall the upgrades with the II are kind of nice, but sort of marginal and not that big of a deal. IMO I'd save the money and get this for this price for sure.

Nothing. Use it for a while and if you need any upgrades/accessories they will become apparent to you. Otherwise you will be spending money in ways that may not provide an actual benefit to you.

This! SO much this! I'm about to offload my 2nd Akorn and getting this instead. While Akorn is definitely appealing price wise, it just won't last. (1st one had a bunch of things rusted, 2nd is on the way to be the same).
