Is it pretty easy to assemble this? Or is it tedious?

Very easy to assemble but you'll definitely need help lifting it into place.

It's gimmick. Most if not all their accessories are just gimmick. The best accessory to charcoal grill is cast iron stuff such as Dutch oven, pizza pan and griddle.
I have both cast iron and soap stone. Soap stone can do everything cast iron griddle does with much less maintenance. You can heat it up at the end of cook and scrap the residues easily then put it in the washer machine. The seafood cooking on the soap stone is another level better than the a griddle. Cast iron is lighter, break free and prob last longer.

My other dilemma here is the desire to make brisket and how you likely aren't going to fit most full packers onto a classic I

LOL

EDIT: i just stumbled across this - https://www.reddit.com/r/KamadoJo...j_classic/

Creative! So using a rib rack to bend it seems to be the way to go. I'll have to try this hahaha

Okay, what's the difference in this and the green egg other than price?

I never thought of trying that, people get real creative in how to fit things on their kamados. I got 2 racks of ribs into my Joe Jr before lol

I just placed the order. My wife is going to kill me...

Hopefully it doesn't show up cracked and damaged (per reading a couple people here who experienced this) - seems like a real headache to deal with if that were to be the case :T

Your not alone in that boat, just sent my wife a message about how much I love her as I click buy now. As for the shipping damage don't worry too much, my Jr last week came with a cracked dome, called Walmart and had to talk for a while but pretty much explained that it's 100lbs and my back can't lift. They issued a full refund and I purchased a new dome for it

You use the rib rack for the first part of the cook. Once it shrinks you can take it off. That's also about the time you wrap it. I bought the Classic I about two months ago. I know that I should have waited but wanted it before Thanksgiving. Cooking my first full packer tomorrow. It's 18 lbs, but I haven't trimmed it up. I actually just checked to see how it would fit just a few minutes ago with the rib rack. It's will be tight, but will fit.

This grill is certainly a no-brainer at this price. It's impressive at how well it can maintain a steady temperature and the taste of the food that I am cooking now is better than it has ever been.

If it's worth the hassle, place another order and return the one you bought earlier.
I ain't lugging around 70lbs of joe jr for 20bux lol. Wish they just adjusted online but eh, I've done 2 cooks on it and am very happy even at 249.

oh man that's awesome! So you pretty much got a new grill for the price of a dome hahaha. I have to plan out how I'm going to break the news to my wife lol... also, I think I need to take pictures of the Masterbuilt Electric smoker and my Stok Tower grill and immediately list those up on FB marketplace and CL to see if someone will buy them LOL

Awesome to hear. Looking forward to doing some briskets on this. Which rib rack did you buy btw? Is there a specific one I should be getting?

The one in the pic I posted looks similar to this one - https://www.amazon.com/Aura-Outdo...B01F2DXKTM

Seems like the 'pointy' triangle shaped racks are what you'd want.

You need lump charcoal. Good luck to find a good deal.
I like Royal Oak Lump Charcoal and it was $16.96 for 30lb bag 2 or 3 weeks ago and I ordered 2 plus a filler to get it over $35 for free shipping but the price is up now at $18.97.
