It's another good deal. However, the Microsoft model is the 15.6" model which has a 1080p 16:9 display instead of 1800p with 16:10 aspect ratio (generally preferred for productivity). In addition to having lower resolution, I believe it's also 60Hz instead of 90Hz refresh rate. In general 14" laptops also have a small premium above 15.6" models anyway.

IMO the 14" Walmart model is still a better deal overall given the difference in screens.

That's also only 1080p. The deal posted is 1800p.

For better battery life, 1080p is the best. I had a 4K display on a laptop once, but battery sucked big time.
The battery life on this has been reported to be excellent. It's been reported to be around 10hrs.
It houses a 63W battery, so I can't really doubt that claim.

Great specs, but it's hard to ignore the outdated design. It's good if you can get pass that.

They're not good in a lighted room or outside. Turning brightness way up can help.
Sure, that's always the argument on that topic. Some prefer matte, video/image enthusiasts prefer gloss. This is an OLED screen though, making it matte would be a crime, lol (also, I've never seen a matte oled screen)

Apple displays and laptops are all glossy and look gorgeous. Some how people make due (most likely due to brightness). #glossyistheway

Nice find.. am very tempted given I've been hunting for both this model and the zenbook 14x, both feature the new 90hz OLED panels. I'm kinda surprised this doesn't have touch though, its a nice convenience to have, and was hoping it to be slightly thinner and lighter. 3.2lbs and .77inch thick are on the high end for a 14inch ultrabook... But at $650 for a 1800P OLED screen @400 nits, this is still a steal regardless..
Literally the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on this is the absence of a touch screen.
But the more I look at this deal the more I'm willing to get past that.

ok so compared to the lenovo deal the OP mentioned

This has OLED, but less ram(upgradeable) and no touch screen.
Lenovo has a touch screen, IPS, and 16gb of ram
both are high resolution.
both 16:10
both 90hz
both have the same amount of storage space

This is a tough one to decide between.

The largish battery was probably picked to offset the watts needed by the hires screen. And explains why it's on the heavy side for a 14in.

Personally I think ~3lbs isn't too bad, but you have to add the AC adapter weight. I have ThinkPads which need a 170 watt brick, and that adds ~2lbs onto of the ~ 4 to 5lbs laptop. In contrast my P1 weighs around ~ 3lbs and uses a135 watt brick which is only around ~ 1lbs. The 14 in T series ThinkPads I have only use a 70 watt adapter, which is around ~ 0.5lbs.

Does this use a USB-C charger? The 45 watt charger which came with Galaxy Chromebook is probably less than 0.25lbs. The Accer Spin 713 also comes with a 45 watt charger, but its 3x the size, and 4x the weight.

I can't seem to find it anywhere - is the storage upgradable? Based on the specs it seems like just a standard M.2 NVMe SSD.

Also, would this processor/iGPU be good for Photoshop?

Just checked, This walmart model has 63 WH battery and 1800p 90HZ display, Microsoft model has 42 WH battery and 1080p 60HZ display, so overall battery life would be the same but best screen on walmart model. Storage and Ram is the deciding factor. Screen and battery are better on walmart model.

How's the build quality compared to the Lenovo Slim 7i?
Are you referring to this $699 Slim 7 deal?

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lenovo.../661718571

The Slim 7 is $50 more but is 16GB vs Asus at 8GB.

The Lenovo is sleek but Asus is OLED though...tough choice.

Do these kinds of screens have burn in issues? This seems like a really good deal.

No it does not. It comes with a 120W proprietary charger if I'm not wrong.

Indeed.
Size:
12.50" x 9.00" x 0.76"-0.76" (Asus Vivobook)
12.29" x 8.72" x 0.57-0.67" (Lenovo Ideapad Slim)

Lenovo is more compact, and I'm not sure what materials the Vivobook uses versus the lenovo supposedly being all aluminum.

I already ordered the Lenovo, but this one is tempting for the screen alone. I don't think I will though as I prefer the more sleek laptop and possibly better build.

Now, if only they'd release the Zenbook 14x...that'd be a different story, and probably a more costly one.
