The fine print reads:

The first month's $10 Award will be added to the Primary Membership account after enrollment and must be used within thirty (30) days from the date of Membership enrollment. The following $10 Awards per month for months two through six will be added to the Primary Membership account at the beginning of each month and will expire at the end of each month in which they are issued.

So it sounds like you have $10 to spend in that specific month.

The best thing about Bj's is they have a fresh deli dept just like your good supermarkets but the prices are all a few bucks lower per pound. If you live close to one and that interests you that would be the main difference between them. Costco and Sams deli meats are all prepackaged and of lower quality.

Ive have both Bjs and Costco
They vary in their offerings so stuff you get at Costco you can't get at BJs and visa versa
BJs seem to offer a lot more food option and when it comes to meat if you have a large family Costco is probably better but if not if you don't want to spend $50 on average meat shop at Bjs

I think it's because those locations (at least the ones in Michigan) are relatively new. They probably think they don't need to give a discount to attract customers to those stores. That's my hypothesis.

It is a state law in NJ that a fee (membership) cannot be charged for purchase of fuel so that is why non-members can get fuel there.

They're all probably newly opened BJs, I know at least one on that list is very new because I was planning to activate this Groupon there. Instead I'll have to activate it further away, then use my new membership to access the new BJs location that won't take the Groupon. Dumb stuff.

according to bj's shopping gurus, you become new member if you renewed at least three months after your 1 year membership expired. just make sure you use new email address. at this price this is a great deal. mine took forever to validate and process but it works now. it shows expiration in Jan. 2022

This is a NJ-only thing. The law that bans self-serve gas also bans gas clubs, so anyone can just drive up and gas up.
