Not too familiar with this company but after some searches seems legit. Please tell me otherwise. This is the lowest price I've ever seen this M1 Mac Mini.

I rather get it from Costco for a bit more. Costco Is easier to deal with for any issues or returns.
Connection is legit but they are more of a business to business company with old school order processing. One time I had to call them to get my order procssed.
If you're on macOS Monterey, you are probably experiencing the memory leak bug, however, the OS will consume any empty memory as it sees fit, and reduce consumption as you open more and more tabs in Chrome. I have a 8gb base model MBA, and a Chrome tab whore, and have never seen the 8gb more than medium compression in Activity Monitor. I have almost as many tabs open as I do on my iMac with 32gb of memory and MBA is still far faster (probably due to all SSD).

Plus, if you look up the 16 vs 32gb memory comparison videos on YouTube of the new MBPs, there's literally no difference unless you're trying to do everything else anddd edit an 8k video file.

Is this 8 or 7 graphics cores?

8. Only the MBA base model has the 7 core, something I only realized recently when I looked up the stock mini configs on the Apple website.

I own this and advise against the 8GB model. The OS itself seems to consume 5-6GB. Chrome browser with several tabs open takes up another 1+GB. Which leaves you with a machine that's swapping memory to SSD constantly, resulting in noticeable lag. I was even getting stuttering music playback with this basic usecase. Terrible decision by Apple to build an 8GB Mx machine. When you're not maxing out memory, the fantastic M1 shines ... but you're buying a complete system. I expected much better from Apple on this one.

I use these same specs for graphic design and 4K video editing. I never ever had a memory issue even working on 10 heavy apps. There must be a specific app or settings on your machine that is causing that.

It's probably Chrome, which is known to be a memory hog on pretty much every platform.

Probably a specific web app inside chrome because while chrome isn't my default browser, I use it to test my web apps and I didn't notice any issues. I even have m1 with 16gb of ram and so far, I can't see any difference in performance! It's a waste of money unless maybe you want to run virtualisation and assign it to another OS.

This is the old PC/MacConnection. I forgot they ever existed.

Mac mini (M1, 2020) has memory that is integrated into the Apple M1 chip and can't be upgraded. You can configure the memory in your Mac mini when you purchase it.
So no buying base model and upgrade the memory yourself. That's going to suck to find out you need more memory later in time.

I know it's open box but it's still a much better deal

https://www.ebay.com/itm/36324852...SwloFf9fjQ

Btw I know the ssd could die or the hardware can go bananas but do you really need AppleCare on a stationary device?

I was watching a video of how to do it and turns out it was the previous intel model. Doh Good thing I rechecked again before I pulled the trigger on this deal. What a shame. Sadwalk

It was bad enough that not a lot of software works on Apple's mommy platform but now their M1 makes it even more of a mom and pop shop of lesser apps working with them.

Maybe your machine is defective? I've had no issues with 8gb and do a bunch of "heavy lifting".

But don't believe me just search on youtube on 8gb M1.... tons of folks are doing just fine.....

> I expected much better from Apple on this one

Yeah it's cheaper and faster than the intel variants and comes with the exact same base memory. What the heck were they thinking. Not sure what you were expecting but you sure have not been around too long if you can't remember all the macbooks and minis that came with 4gb of ram even soldered so you can never upgrade it.

fyi: connection.com is PC Connection; they've been around for decades.
They also collect tax for all states where it's required.

Take note of terms:

All non-defective returns authorized by PC Connection, whether opened or unopened, will be
assessed a minimum 15% restocking fee, and must be authorized for return within 30 days from
