Multiple promotional handset credits per line are indeed possible. Multiple posts were made to dispute the official wording from T-Mobile and this has been documented at the following post.
⚠️ You are limited to one promotional bill credit at a time per line ⚠️ If the line already has promotional bill credits from old promotions you will lose those credits. You MUST pay off the device to move the credits over to the account level to sign up for new Recurring device credits on that line. THIS WORDING IS DIRECTLY FROM T-MOBILE'S website support page for RDC Recurring device credits also known as promotional bill credits. So DO NOT DO THIS ON A LINE THAT HAS BILL CREDITS ATTACHED TO IT.

" You may have one Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo per line at a time. To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit, you must pay off the existing EIP first.
If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months)."

Tips for getting the free device
Best way to buy the Velvet (or other free device):

1. Open T-Mobile app on your phone and go to "Account" tab
2. Tap the big square with your line in it. It's ok if that's not the line you're going to put the velvet on.
3. Tap "Upgrade device"
4. Tap "all devices"
5. If a popup shows asking what you'd like to do today, close it with the X at the top right
6. At the top, be sure the dropdown says "You are upgrading a current device"
7. Scroll to the very bottom and find the velvet and tap it
8. Hit upgrade my line. From there you can pick which line to actually buy the device on.

Terms:

FREE Samsung Galaxy A10e, Galaxy A11, or LG VELVET 5G.

For a limited time while supplies last, new & existing customers can get the Samsung Galaxy A10e, Galaxy A11, or LG VELVET 5G FREE via 24 monthly bill credits on any rate plan. No trade-in required.

Contact us before cancelling service to continue remaining bill credits, or credits stop & balance on required finance agreement is due (e.g. $180 – Samsung Galaxy A10e / $180 – Samsung Galaxy A11 / $400 – LG VELVET 5G). Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.
Which is the best of the free phones?
Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

Wow, even with monthly credits, if you plan to stay with T-Mobile, free is free!

and as in the past, before it gets asked, Yes, you can stack multiple EIPs on the same phone line. Just pay off your current EIP to be safe, prior to getting a new device.

Customers on any postpaid plan can get a free iPhone SE when you add a line to your account. This offer, by the way, is the only one in this list compatible with Sprint plans.

Doesn't mention EIP but most likely same terms?

Can you do this online? I've heard that if your line is eligible for upgrade, you can have multiple EIPs on same line without having to pay them off

If you cancel a line before 24 months with credits from the "free" phone still applying is the remaining balance due?
