Best Buy is selling the 14-oz., current version of Ember's self-heating coffee mug. Normally, the 14-oz. version goes for $130 but is on-sale today for $100. (That is the regular price of the 10-oz. version.)

This is the same price as the Costco deal also flagged on SlickDeals today. But if you are not a CostCo member, then Best Buy is the way to get the deal.

These are very rarely on a serious sale. I bought the 10-oz., 1st-generation a few years ago for $65 (awesome deal) when Ember was clearing stock on the old model. Then last week for Black Friday, the Ember website was offering $10 off on the purchase of two mugs together. That's typically as good as it gets.

Note it's only available in blue, which seems to be Best Buy-only, i.e., the mug is not available in this color on Ember's website.

Below is the Best Buy link. Not sure if the deal lasts past today.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/embe...Id=6471969

For those who are wondering why anyone would pay even $65 for a coffee mug, this thing works really well. It will keep your coffee at a set temperature for around an hour if you're away from its charging coaster. And if you keep the mug on the coaster at your desk, it will keep the coffee at a set temperature indefinitely. There is even an iOS or Android app that lets you adjust the temperature to your liking.

Yes, this is a luxury gift. But if you really like coffee (or other hot drink) and want to keep it warm (nearly) to the last drop, this is the best option.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I got one of these from Costco. My complaint is that it works too well. What I mean by that is it constantly cooks while in the mug. It works wonderfully on black coffee and tea. But I like creamer in my coffee. Since I put creamer in, it essentially cooks to the side of the cup.

I don't like the cup simply for this reason. If I drank black coffee, I would be in love with it.
I guess that's the crux of the matter.

Not as slick looking, but for a whopping 22 bucks you could also get a temperature controlled heating pad to use with your plain old dishwasher safe ceramic mug: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779QR...ZB3E1MV1X9
I think people misunderstand what this does. They don't realize you can actually set the desired temperature.

I admit these seem very expensive, and they are. I hemmed and hawed for a while because getting one. I've used it literally every day for the last two years. Absolutely worth every penny.

Q6: How can I clean my vacuum bottle?

A: Always rinse out your vacuum bottle after each use and rinse the stopper under running water. Do not soak the vacuum bottle in water or place in a dishwasher to clean. The exterior, stopper and cup(s) can be cleaned using a moist sponge or soft cloth and mild dishwashing liquid. The interior can be cleaned using a mild dishwashing liquid and then rinsed thoroughly. Please refer to your instruction manual for more.
Usually it has to do with the outer coating. They tend to not hold up to dishwashers high heat and will chip/peel. The inside obviously was designed to deal with it.

Why are you here? You seriously going to get on your high horse and talk about frivilous purchases and people starving? Get out of here, that's what slick deals and 'murica is all about - consumption of non-essential items. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

With you 100%.

I suppose this is good for someone who works from home and sips at their coffee from a mug for hours?

Honestly, a 14oz mug you're gonna fill to about 12-13oz... I'm going to be done with that in 30 minutes.

Anything more goes in a thermos, and a good Henkel or Zoji keeps it HOT all day.
Just nuke the cold coffee for 30 secs. ez pz

The only thing more ridiculous than the pricing on this cup are the people defending it.

$100 for a mug? No deal. My $10 as seen on TV travel mug keeps my coffee warm for 10+ hours.
Not just any mug. You can't put this one in the dishwasher or microwave.

I bet the battery isn't replaceable either.

No, you cannot put it into the microwave. But why would you want to put a cup that heats itself into the microwave? I also cannot microwave my toaster.

No, you cannot put it into the dishwasher. While I have not timed it, I think it takes me 15 seconds to rinse the mug by hand. It's not like I've missed watching my kids grow up while rinsing this mug.

No, the battery is not replaceable. Two years on, the battery on mine is fine. (Just for context, the battery on my cellphone also is not replaceable.)

I bought a heated vest with a sizable battery for 30 bucks. So personally I consider this way overpriced.

Virtue signaling, at least it made you feel better. You'd have to be a monk to practice what you preach. So what's a monk doing on Slickdeals?
