You may need to read in details about how Dual Channel Ram works. You can go up to 40GB here by adding a 32GB stick to the ram slot and still runs 16GB portion (8GB soldered + 8GBportion of the SODIMM module). Google Dual Channel Hybrid Mode or Flex Mode.
I've owned the 2021 G14 as well as the G15. Both excellent machines. Very good speakers on both (I thought the G14 was actually louder). Both can get quite hot though Ryzen Controller can help cap that. Excellent keyboards on both - the G14's lighting is better than last year's, but still can wash out the keys in certain lightings. Obviously the G15 has more power and you can game at native 1440p. The build quality on the G14 is definitely better - such a dense little piece of kit! The G15 is creaky.

No webcam on either but they're two of the best smaller gaming laptops of 2021, IMHO. And like was mentioned, these don't look too flashy and will eat up just about any other task you throw at them.
Do whatcha want but a 20ms response time on a 144hz screen is unacceptable to me. It is otherwise perfect. There is a 1440p 120hz version but a 3060 can't quit handle 1440p.

Maybe next year.

Still, if you aren't overly sensitive to response time, it's a great deal for sure.

All the cool reviewers talk about it… Not good if you are competitive… How did they even manage that slow of a response time on a 144hz screen? 😳

There are not many option for 14" 144hz panel to choose from as that's used by like 2 or 3 laptops and display manufacturers don't pay that much effort to these compared to 15.6, 16 and 17.3 inch displays.

So, basically you're locked into 16GB of RAM if you want to run dual channel? That stinks.

This would make for an excellent workstation at home, but 32 GB is what I need. I also would be using an external display 90% of the time.

Before the thread crappers start with, "you don't need that much RAM," yes I really do. I work with mutigigabyte Photoshop, Illustrator and other files for work, at the same time.

Otherwise, this is quite a nice rig. But losing ~10% performance if I want more memory stinks. The one RAM slot soldering is terrible.

I could use this as a workstation at home, but I need 32 GB. Most of the time, I will use a monitor outside the PC.
