I buy Shea by the pound so I'm not in need RN, but white or yellow is good by me. But I prefer white unless I know the company, because other stuff is sometimes added to make yellow Shea appear yellow.
But Shea is great whipped for when you don't feel like melting raw, crumbly butter in your hands to apply. Easier and faster to use that way. Just use a blender to incorporate air, and depending on how you plan to use it, add oils (coconut, olive, and essential oils for fragrance or whatever) at the same time. Store in an airtight glass jar and have a fluffy, creamy, inexpensive moisturizer for your body or hair treatments.
I use Shea butter as a body moisturizer, hair butter on the ends and midshaft of my afro texture hair, and add it to my deep conditioner for a boost.

is it a soft/whipped consistency? i found ASHANTI NATURALS 100% SOFT AND CREAMY last yr at marshall's & love that you can use it right out of the container.
The texture is kind of firm, but it's not hard like cocoa butter, and it's definitely not whipped. I'll have to try the stuff you mentioned sometime. It'll be interesting to see how it differs.
Off topic, my new thing has been hummus + kettle cooked potato chips.
