Well the CX is 120Hz.

120Hz isn't just for gaming either. I wish people recognized that.

Most TV/Movie content is 24p (Hz).

60Hz TVs can't display 24p content w/o using 3:2 pulldown...which creates judder. 24Hz divides cleanly into 120Hz...no conversion.

All else equal, a 60Hz TV will never look as good as a 120Hz TV for almost all video content. It technically can't.

Now if the price is right, it might be good enough for someone (maybe those Switch players?)

If I'm spending extra bucks to get the best PQ I can (by buying OLED to begin with)...I'm not going to cheap out and get a 60Hz one personally.

The vertical banding issue is probably won't go away. I have seen MANY OLED panels in person (friends, coworkers, display units, my own LG B7), almost all of them had some banding. Though it varied a lot, some it's very very obvious, and for some, you had to look really hard in a very dark room. IMO, if you get a new OLED, do go about looking for banding and if its not something you can notice day-to-day, just ignore it and move on.

Honestly, my vision is very bad, so i don't think I've ever noticed it during regular content. I am just going by what this other guy says who keeps buying practically every generation of oled.

I feel like LG is just not trying to address it becuase they make all of the panels, anyway, so they know they will get all of the money one way or another. They seem stagnate where each new generation isn't MUCH better than the previous ones, although the adding of 120hz is one big difference.

I wish they'd bring 3d back too... That is on my samsung, but I've never tried it. lol. i just figure eventually I will and I hate having less options. I think projectors still have 3d.

Pros for these TV's are the very deep blacks, and nice color. Cons are that they're not the brightest in the market (panel is glossy and will reflect a window in a room, etc), they're not ideal for static images or HUDs since burn-in is possible.
As you probably already heard there's not VRR, 120hz, or hdmi 2.1 on this particular model. Hope that helps. I like the website rtings for tv research.

Costco has slightly different model numbers because of the warranty. Most of their TVs with extended warranties are like that. So you'd have to have a rep who doesn't notice.

Not sure why the hate for this TV, we plan on using it in our bedroom which is always dark and this TV will probably be great

The hate is because are obsessed with HDMI 2.1. When in reality there is hardly any content that even supports that. PS5 and Series X aren't going to have many games that do 4K/120HZ. It isn't that big of a deal.

I mean, Xbox's biggest IP does support it. It's somewhat of a big deal

Yeah, may not be the best TV for gaming, but for watching TV, movies or streaming in our bedroom, this pretty much checks all the boxes. We've been really happy with our 55" CX OLED from last year
