Not sure why they said it, but the consensus around SD seems to be that Amazon doesn't usually post great deals anymore and now they do the predatory thing where a B&M store has a deal and they'll just do this flash sale thing to price match. Plus, support B&M.
Buy from Best Buy
Seems like the differences between the U6G (this one) and the U6GR are really circumstantial and for most people's purposes, this deal (U6G) is the superior panel to buy. Rtings has finally come out with their rating of the U6GR and it seems to fall short slightly in essentially every category. VRR is definitely the add in the U6GR and would be likely a better gaming panel in that capacity but otherwise, it seems like the HDMI 2.1 ports can't actually be fully used because this is a native 60 Hz panel (if I'm understanding the spec properly).

In any case, it seems like this is the better model that most people were looking for when deals for the U6GR were coming up at BF.

Recently bought at Amazon at $650. Think I could get them to refund me some? I know they "don't price match"

Update: Amazon helped me out in a way that was satisfactory. I'm not a tv snob, but I'm pretty happy with it so far! This is a solid deal, if be all at this price is you're shipping anywhere near this price tier. I don't think you'll do better until you're spending close to a grand. Caveat: I'm not a gamer, so I don't know how it is for that purpose

This kills me. I just went out YESTERDAY and bought a 65" TU7000 Samsung from Best Buy at the store for $540 after tax. THEN bought a refurb'ed Sony 65" X900H online last night for $609 after tax. THEN this freaking deal comes out today on the 65" U6G that I wanted to begin with!!! FREAAAAAKING AYYYYY. lol.

I sure hope that refurb Sony works out. It's the best of the bunch of course, but I'm not happy about buying a refurb from a less than reputable company!!

Oh by the way, I already WRAPPED the Samsung for Christmas - haha. DOH!

Cancelled my existing order and re-ordered this from BB with the $25 off and 5% back deals from paypal/chase. Took me like 80 tries to schedule the delivery and complete the order but happy it went through finally. I needed the haul away option for $30 so this was the only way it would have worked for me. Amazon wasn't an option. Upgraded from the 2 year warranty to the 5 yr geek squad and still saved over 100 so pretty happy. Just need the set to be good and not to go OOS.

X900H.
https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...shold=0.10

ratings also says the u7g is very close to the x900h but they favor the x900h by a small margin depending on what you want more.

I actually bought a X950H like new (seems new all around with warranty) for $900. So, loss on me? Meh, good for wide seating viewing.
