RAM not upgradable. Solder on motherboard. Screen not very bright, only 250 nits. Everything else awesome.
This or the Lenovo yoga 6?

Can anyone tell me about Costco warranty for laptops and whether the Allstate warranty adds 3 years after 2 year Costco or in addition to it? And/or if I should add Allstate even?

This looks like a good deal, but I wish the screen were brighter.

I do not believe so since the type-c port is not Thunderbolt 3/4

This^^. Unfortunately no AMD laptop currently supports Thunderbolt, so no eGPU support, since it's an Intel standard. Ryzen 6000 series CPUs will bring USB4 (Thunderbolt 4) to laptops.

How does an 8 core 5700U compare to a 4 core 11300H?
I'm comparing the Lenovo to the recent Asus deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/15435655-vivobook-pro-14-laptop-14-1800p-oled-i5-11300h-8gb-ram-256gb-ssd-649-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

No. The USB-C port is for charging only on this model (I have this laptop for my son) - yes, it is an annoyance, since it makes my USB-C docking station have much more limited utility. It does have a dedicated HDMI port though for external display usage. Other than that, I think it's a great laptop for the specs and price (yes, the screen is dim, but it is passable). The kids do it all on this machine and abuse it quite a bit. It handles most things like a champ (Roblox, Fortnite, OneNote, Steam/Lego Games, etc). I'll add that I bought this model at CostCo earlier this year for $599 only, so I wouldn't call this the slickest deal.

I recently ordered this one Open Box/Excellent (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/leno...d=6455180) for my other son for roughly the same price. It has almost the exact same specs as the CostCo one here with probably a little better build quality. And this one has display output on the USB-C port. You wouldn't get the extra CostCo warranty with this one though.

I believe I5 is better when using single core to quad core(because it has higher base clock 3.1>1.8) but if you do lots of heavy work using all 8 cores then you need to have 8core cpu.
