For those with Amex offer $200 off $800 offer, you can reduce this by $100 per laptop if you purchase two separate orders of this $399.99 laptop (sales taxes will make it > $800 qualifying you for the credit)
I had both the $200 off $800 Amex offer and a 10% Dell Amex offer on the same Amex card (biz Plat) and bought two orders- making this $260 per computer ($399.99 multiply by 2 minus $200 amex offer minus $80 amex 10% dell offer).
As an added bonus the Amex biz Plat has a biannual $200 Amex biannual credit on Dell purchases further reducing my cost to $160 per computer.
There was also 8% Rak CB making this a further $32 reduction per computer for an effective $128 per computer.
For those wondering- yes all Dell credit stacked just fine and I've already gotten credit posted from Amex and even my CB has passed without issues.

I don't need anything too powerful, but I've been surprised how few laptops in this price range have backlit keyboards. Maybe it is just the brands I've been keeping an eye on though.

Elaborating on a similar deal and sharing information for others to consider combining and making things Slicker I purchased a Dell Touch Inspiron from another thread but as helped by another member I split the total purchase of $1470 into to transactions and was able to use all 3 offers; Amex Business $200off$800 +10% and $120off$599 by putting $870 & $600 respectively onto the cards.
$1470 for 2 AMD5700,16GB, 512SSD Touch with 2 year warranty and taxes.
-$200 Amex Business off $800 already posted
-$120 Amex Personal off $599 already posted
-$87 Amex 10% Business already posted
-$160ish for 11% CB (not posted and have to have them investigate)
Should be about $452 for the 2 laptops assuming CB comes through. Sucks that I missed the 16% CB as well as that would have been another -$75 and reordering was not an option as Dell increased the pricing yesterday plus the config was out of stock unless you did 1TBSSD.
Whats even more annoying is that I found SD deal on this same confirm a month or so back that was cheaper https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/frown.gif so the pricing Dell offered wasn't the best or at least not BlackFriday best.

Everyone on SD appreciates ways to save money, but telling us how much money YOU saved without anyone else being able to replicate it is just gloating.
Surprised that you have such a narrow interpretation and view on what someone posted as its hard to with intent online let alone on a online forum.
Like others have said other people's contributions help me with steps or deal things I a missing and combine items to make things slicker or wait to not have to jump into a deal knowing it might come back soon. Similar to my post above deal I got was very good but still could have been better as Dell is playing games.

For the past 2 weeks, I've only used the Inspiron 14 exclusively while the brand new Inspiron 15 sit unused on a shelf (until they become Christmas gifts for family members). It's amazing how the backlight keyboard which doesn't seem like a big deal initially is actually very useful for those who use a personal laptop in bed at night especially if you have little ones still sleeping in your bedroom
If I could have turned back the clock, I would have purchased more of the $448 Inspiron 14 instead of this $399 15 model due to those features and the much better form factor and functionality.
Even with great specs- this Inspiron 15 is best served as a desktop replacement day use type of computer. If you want a night use in bed type of laptop, spend the $50 extra to get the Inspiron 14 build
Target had a model at $339.99 very early in the season that checked all the boxes for a long-term, budget/productivity laptop.This deal has expired and the price has floated up a couple hundred dollars(!).
Later, Target also had an offer for a model at $269.99 which was, arguably, in need of a RAM upgrade from day 1 (being equipped with "only" 4GB of RAM). However, even accounting for the price of that upgrade you would still be ahead. If you're particularly lucky, this latter offer could still be available in your area.
