After getting it for free the last couple of years, that link only shows $20 off. Bummer!
UPDATE: Nvm! I see it on the summary page after refreshing a couple of times.
How to download instead of online version?
UPDATE: Figured out how to download. After logging in, I reopened the Fidelity link, on the top menu goto file your taxes, cd/download, compare products, and the premier should be $0. Had to try this several times but finally got the download version.
Ah bummer, I don't see it anywhere in my account. Only the $20 offer.
If you use the ONLINE version of this Premier promo, both Federal and State e-file will be FREE.
However, if you do the DOWNLOAD route, the Federal e-file is free, and you get one State download, but the STATE E-FILE is NOT FREE. The State E-file is based on the date that you e-file ($20 if you file earlier, but $25 as you get closer to the deadline) (the exception is New York state, where there is no state e-file fee).
Just wanted everyone to know.
I'll still be doing the Download route (like I did last year), as it is more comprehensive, and will just have to stomach the additional State e-file fee. I paid $25 in April.
On the other hand, the DOWNLOAD version gives you 5 e-File for Federal. I always stick it to the state by filing by mail. Cost me $2 in postage. I don't understand why the state won't let me open an account and file with a PDF. Even houses are purchased over online these days. If they like handling paper returns, so be it.
This is what I'm getting for Turbo Tax Premier download:

Does it show $0 when you go to the site? If it does, start over again until you see it at $0. If you do not see the free offer on the Fidelity Portfolio Summary page, you do not qualify for the offer.
Thanks for posting. I didn't see it on my account summary page this morning, then it showed up in the afternoon while talking to a Fidelity representative. Last year my daughter was able to use it to file her tax return also. I believe you can file up to five returns with one product key.
looks like only $20 here too, I change service so much I forgot what I used last year. Went and look it seems like I used Credit Karma for free last year. Maybe they'll have it again this year.
Edit: it looks like Credit Karma is no more, they changed name to Cash App Tax
Credit Karma was purchased by Intuit (TurboTax). Tax software went to Square.
Got it! First time I got this when the promo starts, I usually get it some time in January. If you meet the requirements, hang tight, you'll get it in January!
The requirements are a bit ambiguous, but usually if you are an active trader or have minimum $500k in non-retirements accounts or combined $1mm for all accounts. Typing these requirements from memory, so may not be 100% accurate.
Hmm, I've met those requirements, but am still seeing only the $20 off. Hopefully it updates in January and I get it for free for once!
Just received an email today from Turbo Tax. Looks as if free e-filing is officially ended.
With the IRS Free File program surpassing its founding goals of e-file and tax preparation, Intuit has elected not to renew its participation in the Free File Program for the upcoming tax season. This decision will allow us to focus on further innovation and to continue exploring how to best serve the complete financial health of all Americans through our products and services. Learn more.
In the past, you have used TurboTax through the Free File program to prepare and file your taxes. Although Intuit is no longer participating in the program, if your Adjusted Gross Income is $73,000 or less, you may still qualify for other IRS Free File Offers at www.IRS.Gov.
Thanks OP. Was waiting for this to show up. This time is earlier. Thanks.
