If you also just signed up for Xfinity Internet and, during checkout steps, checked the box that says to send you a SIM card for Xfinity Mobile, that is probably what's confusing many folks, including me.
After waiting for SIM card that would never arrive, I learned I needed to place a separate Xfinity Mobile order after my Xfinity Internet account was established.
The Xfinity (marketing?) team which advertised that combo failed.
Very happy with this deal as I did it to reduce my home internet to $20 (discount of $30). That also surprisingly worked out well too without much issue. Now if only they could give me free Peacock without requiring ordering Flex.....
So far so good....using the random IMEI generator, activating before getting SIM, $3 Google Voice route, never touching a phone or SIM.
Now to see if I get the $200 GC and $30 combo service discount without any problems. Gotta make a big mental note not to cancel the line after getting the GC.
Could you please guide on how you activated before receiving the SIM cards? What options to use in order to do that?

You also eventually get an email with an activation link but that's probably around or after you receive the SIM.
When you activate, I think that's when the real porting happens. You have to type in the port information and the PIN and stuff. It was probably something like you click on the line on the website and there's multiple options and one of them is activate (or port number?)....maybe. Either way, just be sure the number is ready to be ported and you have the PIN set up correctly before that.
on the screen "activate SIM" it just has this loading graphic and a greyed out 'continue' button. "We're transferring your number from GoogleVoice to Xfinity Mobile. You'll know you're ready for the next step when your phone can't connect to the Internet without WiFi." <-- at this point you're done with the activation process and got to wait for the port to complete (if using GoogleVoice check and make sure the status has changed to unlock-approved)
I don't think anything immediately changes on the Xfinity Mobile website after you do the activation. You got to wait for an "activation complete" email (which means the porting process completed) and then you can check the website and it should show the ported number with the line.
