Looks like GameStop will have PS5 Bundles in stock again tomorrow for Pros. See link for stores participating.
If you don't mind bundles and if you don't mind having to have pro membership check it out.
I got there an hour before opening (New Hyde Park NY) and was 23 in line. I believe if you got there about 5 minutes after opening you were still able to get one. It was the first time I tried to get one in person and didn't seem as bad as I had heard earlier in the year. It was alot easier than wasting time online.
I'm gonna shoot for one of the ones further out on the island. Hopefully better chance

Did they open early for the release or their regular posted times?
I've never gotten an invitation or the opportunity to purchase directly from PSN. I've had an account with them since they first offered one.
Yea sorry I was going to elaborate but got cutoff. They did send out invites out awhile back BUT it didn't go to everyone, it seemed random. But they did ship within days of orders. I like you hate these random drops etc. I mean this far after release is just crazy.
Hard to really fault them too much. The bundles are big enough to keep scalpers away yet still better than buying from a scalper and they get to sell high margin items.
Wrong. I and many others aren't supporting these practices because it's essentially scalping in and of itself. Why do I need an additional $100 GameStop gift card when (in my case) I'm already paying for the entire bundle with a gift card and will still have extra leftover? Or the biggest question:
Why are we not allowed to choose our own games? I get it, 2K14 for 99 cents is going to be excluded, but we should at least be allowed to choose from ANY new game valued at $XX.XX or above. There is absolutely NO excuse anyone can give me to refute that. I buy what *I* want to buy. Until I have choice in what I'm buying, they won't get my money. Maybe I'll finally get one when the PS6 is out. Not hopeful...
Vote with your wallets people. Don't support the BS. Scalpers exist ONLY because of the weak and ignorant. Bundles only exist because of said scalpers. When the retailer is the 'scalper' what does that make you?

Hope you feel better after that.
Reality is if not sold in bundles scalpers would find a way to get their hands on most if not all. Like you said you buy what you want but in case you haven't noticed even these bundles don't last long.
Supply and demand is nothing new. We've just been spoiled and aren't used to lack of supply.
If you get from GameStop, the games, charger and controller have their prices next to them so you can return them to GameStop if you get an employee not being a prick about it.
GameStop employees have been told NOT to allow partial returns. I tried 3 stores in my area and was told they will under no circumstances allow a return of only a portion of the bundle. YMMV, but be aware that they are instructed not to allow a partial return. They cite "scalper protection", but this is just a falsehood to get you to purchase more, move product that is not selling well, and to make more money. If it were true scalper protection, they would still have you spend 800, but allow you to at least choose the games you are paying $50 for, or just sell $150 in gift cards. Also, I have called and asked what is in the bundles and been told by one store where other stores say they cannot tell you, which is a lie. The business practices done are boarderline unethical.

You missed the point, and missed where I said bundles exist because of the scalpers. They could easily still enforce the bundle price tag to deter the scalpers WHILE being consumer friendly and allowing people to bundle what suits them. Instead it's just pushing whatever isn't selling that week for a premium. Very anti-consumer.

Sign up for alerts and get one direct from Sony. No need to mess around with bundles. I signed up for emails and I had a PS5 a week later. Took me 10 minutes in queue and didn't have to keep refreshing. Easy experience for those still waiting for one.

f****** preach!
I got one, $799 plus tax without warranty, came to about $844
I strolled in at lunch time, walked right in to pick one up, no line. The price keeps lots of people away, you'll be fine.
Still, such garbage to do this bundle crap. Jerks. But, I understand...
Just get some weed instead.
