I just opened this on Christmas. Hands down the worst experience ever. There's no DJI Fly App on the android app store. No way to control the app without this. I download APK from dji Mavic and my phone says "cannot open". I never should have gone with this drone.

I had the same experience with my Mavic Mini, but it took all of a minute or two to get sorted out. If you can't read instructions, probably good to avoid.

"Given the wide permissions required by DJI GO 5 (access contacts, microphone, camera, location, storage, change network connectivity, etc.), the DJI or affiliated third-party servers have almost full control over the user's phone. This way of updating an Android App or pushing a new app completely circumvents Google feature module delivery 6 or in-app updates 7. Google is not able then to do any verification on update and modifications pushed by DJI.
Therefore, any security assessment made on this application, such as Kivu 4, is strongly limited because potential malicious code can be pushed by DJI afterwards through this auto-update mechanism.
The user cannot have control on the version and features of the application he runs."

I have a couple cheap drones I've learned to fly with and I'm ready to upgrade to a DJI. I'm in no hurry so I'd ask which of the Mini or Mini 2 combos is a better long term buy? Are these the best prices or should I wait on a different combo or model? I don't want anything too large and I don't need any over the top camera capabilities. Looking for fly time and functionality (follow capability type stuff, etc.)
