If you are going to shuck and use them internally:
for $40 more, you can get new enterprise HDDs running at 7200rpm, advanced vibration protection and 5 yr warranty.
Imho, at these large capacities, it's worth paying the extra $40 (Wait for even lower price difference on sale) for a higher standard product if you are using it internally. (Without a shell)
Seagate Exos X18 18TB Enterprise HDD - CMR

Edit: early morning, accidentally put 16tb link before.
Lol also there's a lot more motivation to go back and write a negative review when it doesn't work as expected. Where as when the drives DO work, people go on their merry lives. So there will be an influx of negative reviews just like vehicle headlights right off the bat.
Lol some funny reviews will even mention things like "Does not have correct advertised size!".
Does any one know what is inside? Is it WD180EDGZ like the others?
Update:
Price research on westerndigital.com
Don't bother with edu 15% off coupon, it will actually bring the price up since it canceled out the original discount.
There are also
1. a PayPal (UP to) 12% CB, but the terms are very ambiguous, it seems to be done via Honey
2. a RKT 5% CB, but the last time we tried, it only recorded 10% of the price i.e. 199.99->19.99 as total, some had success contacting them to fix it, others are told to wait.
3. And finally, don't forget Chase Freedom 5% CB with paypal.
1&2 are mutually exclusive, 3 is usually stackable since they are tracked through different channel
