It's decent for SATA

I have 2.5" bays in my computer and no more nvme slots. You barely notice the difference real world launching things from nvme vs SATA, it's mostly for benchmarks. There are loads of blind youtube tests confirming this.

LOL, so I can get 120MB/s and 10ms latency over 1GbE vs 450MB/s and 0.1ms latency over SATA III?

The purpose is all those computers that don't have NVMe slots. If you have one do use it.

What should I do if I've maxed out all my PCI-E and NVME slots?

Any idea if this is good for upgrading my ps4 from regular 1TB HDD to this one ?
Help please with any suggestions
Not worth it unless you have the PS4 Pro.

Yeah, I don't see the purpose in sata SSDs anymore. You're better off paying another $30 for a 2TB NVME.
Game systems.

"burst elite" this sounds high end! Putting one of these in my 5950x rig. In for 1!
Bro, if you have 5950x money, don't put cheap tires on a Porsche, invest in a large Nvme and get rid of smaller ones. Your computing experience will be much nicer.

For data storage or games, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the speeds. For a primary drive I'd get nvme if available, but if it's a second drive, whatever's cheap
Agreed and everyone keeps quoting theoretical speeds when in reality nvme isnt noticeably faster than sata ssd. If you have a secondary spindle or ssd drive then get this.

Not trying to be a Samsung fanboi or anything, but in all the years I've been researching SSD's and using them, I just haven't found anything that is as good, overall, as Samsung's EVO and PRO lines (MLC/TLC drives). Yes, you may pay a little more...but seems like a good investment IMO.

Has anything really changed in the market?

Buy a suitable motherboard for your needs. There are Z690 boards with 5 dedicated M.2 NVME slots. With consumer drives reaching 8 TB, that gives you a potential 40 terabytes of storage on M.2 socketed drives without giving up any PCI-e slots.
Let me just buy a new MB for an old pc to get a marginally faster drive I won't notice. Are you people eating paint chips?

Buy NVME and put it in an adapter or housing for any other port you have left.

They other poster is correct. These are useless.

And later down the road if you outgrow the size of the NVME you pop it our of the housing and convert it to an external drive or something portable and you always have double or triple the speed.
You people are ridiculous.... Let me rig up a complicated system of gears and pulleys and pay $300 for a 2 tb drive with a nominal unnoticeable speed gain so some tool on SD doesn't think less of me....

I can't find any info on these jumbo Patriot drives... I can find one review for the 480GB drive which is generally positive but is TLC and this is almost certainly QLC. As SATA drive, they are probably fine and faster than older DRAM-less drives.

I'd wait until the Samsung QVO comes on sale again for a SATA storage drive. Or the Kingston NV1 or better yet the Intel 670p about $150 for the 2TB M.2 drive.
