Posted in other thread, but adding here as well:

Chiming in quickly on the plate diameter. For the most part, fitness gear and other mass produced plates will fit fine on this. It's the plates made to tighter tolerances that will be an issue. Bumper plates in general have a hub that is standardized across brands and is consistent. No cost savings for a brand making their own specialized center piece. So those are likely to not fit. A cast plate however, each brand needs their own mold to make the plates. Which means each brand's fit will be different with the lower end plates more likely to fit and wiggle vs not fit.

This is echoed across all the higher quality site listings(taken from Rogue); "A 50MM center hole is designed for a snug fit on a standard barbell, and as a result, may not fit on some cheaper barbells not held to spec." Eleiko might actually send someone to your house to rough you up if you use their plates on a Cap barbell.

I actually just ran into this issue with Rogue deep dish plates not fitting on a Titan loading pin. Seeing how this bar is cheaper than a single 45lb plate from a lot of company's, if you're putting the plates from a 300lb/$300 Dick's Sporting Goods set, you'll be fine.

Heavy Shrugs, Farmers walks, maybe static holds for grip training?

Just got mine from the last deal and so far, so good…except CAP never sends extra hardware, so I'm stuck with a defective nut (shallow threads, badly machined) until I can go buy one or wait for CAP… so frustrating. Nothing I've bought from them has been without defects, but the prices are usually solid.

Got this the last time it was posted and it's great. Deadlifts are excellent full body exercises and this bar is solid. A+ at this price.

Did you find the elevated grip height in addition to the elevated feet made the lift too shallow (not deep enough starting position)?

The grip height on this one is actually pretty shallow compared to most hex bars, depending on which side you use facing 'up' (can be flipped upside down and lifted by the 'stand' for a higher starting position). If that's still an issue you could always stand on a platform (or even just a plate) to negate the higher starting position, but as a taller (6'3") lifter with a longer trunk I find the extra height is more helpful. I still do regular deadlifts at slightly less weights for mobility, but going heavy that deep puts a bit too much strain on my lower back.

Caveat, I don't actually own this bar (I actually built my own out of wood and steel schedule 40, for a number of reasons) but the same holds true for pretty much all hex bars.

Can we see the defective nut?

So you're asking for a selfie? Big Grin

Already tossed it out, but just imagine a nut where the threads weren't cut deeply enough and can't grip the bolt. It just spins freely, like something that was stripped or cross-threaded, but without the "scars" from the damage. Easy replacement from Home Depot, not worth waiting on a warranty call.

Got it. One more question: How does this come packaged?

Surprisingly well — in 6 pieces (plus hardware) nestled together with cardboard and some styrofoam. It would be pretty hard to damage this during shipping.
