We had the worst time with this service and had to switch back to cable internet. I spent probably more than 10 hours on the phone over a week with their tech support. It would work fine for a brief moment and then nothing despite appearances that everything was OK. It was a complete nightmare.

My speeds are around 400/40, but it's useless if you do online gaming.
For office and home use and streaming, it works well.

see below. you can do your own research too.

Hello! I apologize that you are having issues with Home Internet. I personally use T-Mobile Home Internet for Gaming, and I can agree with you it can be a little frustrating getting it to work with Video Games if at all. The reason for this (confirmed by a Supervisor from Home Internet department) is because the High-Speed Gateway lacks the "UPnP" feature which in short terms is used to connect to certain aspects of a Video Game such as Chat Systems for example. Without UPnP, video gaming can be tough. T-Mobile is aware of the issue, and they are working on a fix, but don't know when it will be released. I hope my answer has helped. Have a great week!

and

had issues with the port forwarding. The issue is that t-mobile and others use a carrier grade NAT which will never assign you a public IP when connecting to the internet. You will be assigned a shared IP to WAN which means there is no way to direct any particular port to your device directly. Unless t-mobile offers a service to allow a public or dedicated IP this probably will never be supported, even if the router they provide has it available in their settings

Love my T Mobile home internet....saving $20/mo compared to Spectrum with speeds at least 2 to 7 times faster! (150mbps download up to as high as 500mbps). If you're close to the towers, you'll love it....seems to be hit or miss though, although I've heard more people like it than not.

They do ask for a hard credit check but you can decline that and they will ask only last 4 digits which they run for no impact coming to your reports . Just got that done for my connection

Just got a text from T-Mobile that my rebate is ready to redeem, including a link. Clicked on link and entered my mobile number (primary # on my TMO account, NOT the new home internet #). A debit card number shows up with $50 balance. Immediately used it to refill my Amazon gift card balance. Within one minute, gift card purchase went through. Spent no more than 3 minutes from getting TMO text to completing my $50 Amazon gift card purchase, which never expires. Whole process could not be easier.

My entire process from ordering TMO Home Internet, to receiving gateway within 4 days, to quick and painless initial setup, to daily use, and getting my rebate has been extremely easy. I am sorry to hear folks who are either not already TMO customers or with Sprint having such difficulties. They really need to work on making this easier to non-TMO customers if they want to grow their customer-base.

Also another quick update...for the last 30+ days, there have been 0 outages, not even small blips. My 24x7 Nest Hello cloud recording has had zero gaps, and I've been checking everyday. And I've been running speedtests everyday as well and about 98% of time, my speeds have been solid around 500Mbps down and 30Mbps up. The other 2% either dips down to 400/20 or goes up to 600/40. This was done at random times throughout the day, including congested time. I have yet to reboot my gateway during that whole time and bands have been locked onto N41/B2 the entire time. I think my 2 external antennas help with the solid connections and consistent speeds alot.
Good for you. Check back again in a couple months. I got this last year and it was flawless the first couple months or so then thing got sour. Everyday I called them and their reason was always been their towers got overheated.

That's fine. Including the purchases of 2 external antennas and accessories, I'll break even in 4 months (2 more months to go) compared to the price of my previous cable internet. After 4 months, I'll enjoy >$40 savings every month. If things go south, I could easily quit since there's no contract, unlike my cable internet. I'd just hate going back to cable with contract, data cap, increasing prices year after year....I'm buying as much time as possible until fiber comes to my neighborhood.

Thanks. For some reason the code never arrives on the gateway.

It worked for me when I tried the gateway for fee months. Did you swipe on the small display until you saw messages?

Yes and I rechecked the phone number. The text never arrives. I'll try again next week I guess. The T-Mobile app even lists TM Tuesdays as a benefit, so I expected it to work.

Lots of folks here and on Reddit talking about things going downhill with TMobile internet. Is the Verizon version available in your area as a backup plan? It seems that one is more stable and the gateway is much more configurable.

I've been checking Verizon availability on weekly basis, and still not available in my area. Verizon would be my fallback option if T-Mobile goes south. Going back to cable would be my last resort. First choice would be fiber if it ever comes to my neighborhood.

Anyone get their $50?
What a crappy process this has been.
Website says
"Reward Type: Virtual Prepaid Card
Status: Sent"

But when I click Redeem Card and put in phone number I get "We were not able to validate the information provided. Please try again OR if you feel you've reached this message in error, please contact Customer Service."

Several received theirs. For me, got following text with link to redeem. No issues:

"T-Mobile: Congrats! Your Virtual Prepaid Mastercard for 2021 HINT P17 promo is ready. Redeem here: https://*******"

Ordered on 1/14, got above text on 3/03.

I also tried sending a text from my phone to the device. It still says zero messages. Does that work for you?
