Looks like Gamestop also has it for 139 as well. https://www.gamestop.com/gaming-a...02695.html

One lone data point:

We bought one a year ago from Costco and the underside paddles have already failed. Ironically, they were rarely/if ever used. We are waiting to find a Halo edition Elite and then will return this one to Costco once we do. The frequent negative reviews about shoddy quality appear to be true from our point of view.

Which D-Pad? It comes with the shown octagonal pad as well as a traditional cross-style. Each included D-Pad magnetically attaches to a receptacle within the controller shell. Love this controller, using for a year now.

These are great controllers, but get an extended warranty if you can.

Issues I've had:

1. Sticky triggers
2. Sticky ABXY buttons
3. Stick drift in the right stick
4. Left trigger occasionally "shorts" out - not sure how to describe it, but the controller doesn't register that it's held down.

It's really made some games more enjoyable to play, e.g. Warzone or Halo, to have Jump/crouch/slide etc on the back paddles, but if (or when) it starts to fail it will probably piss you off.

What game types is this best for? Have not been in gaming for a while and new Xbox series x is coming soon, doubt I need this controller but need a 2nd one anyways but not sure if regular is fine

Everything, it's just more customizable. You can increase the tension on the sticks, swap the d-pad for an octagonal one, and map any button to bottom paddles. The middle button switches between 3 presets so you can set up different configs for various games. It's a nice controller for sure.

I'm surprised the US Military allows this garbage. Imagine flying drones with one of these and the paddles break ...

Think of all the games you've played where you had to lift your thumb off the right thumbstick to press a button ( ie A to jump ). Now imagine you could put those inputs on one of the paddle(s) instead, allowing you to keep your thumb on the thumbstick while pressing that button.

It's really nice and wish it were standard on controllers.

MS has increased the warranty on these to 1 year. I just returned mine for the second time in less than a year.

These things are garbage. I'd look at other options.

Suddenly the high casualty count of drone strikes makes a lot more sense...

Brand new and mine has the "A" button issue. You have to full on press the "A" button, the other buttons work fine.
