Ebay basically made it so Paypal is the only option, it's the same company, so I guess they can do whatever they want. I got doubly screwed out of $400 by them. A buyer claimed her never got a $400 gift card I sold. I got delviery confirmation but not signature confirmation. Even though I had proof it was delivered to his address, all he had to say was that he didn't get it and they sided with him. Then, they repeatedly tried to take the $385 out of my bank account without permission. They were able to get some from a balance i had in my Paypal account, but then I closed the bank account Paypal was attached to and refused to pay the remaining $2xx. I wasn't going to get screwed over twice!
You know what you should have done in this situation? That is if you couldn't call the company that issued the gift card and have them cancel it and reissue it to you. First you should have checked to see if the gift card was spent and when it was eventually, you should have called the cops and told them you had a gift card stolen through the mail. You could give them the numbers on the card and show them how someone purchased on ebay and said they never got it. Now mysteriously the card has been spent. Let them investigate who stole the gift card, by researching who spent it. Then if the fool who bought it spent it, they can be the one who gets in a whole lot of hot water. And if they aren't the one who spent it, the police should do their job and find out who did.

Hi everyone...got some pretty horrible news today. Frown My sister and I are estranged - basically because she was a pretty horrible parent and lost custody of her sons(ages 3 and 6 months) to their fathers. We haven't been close in a long time, and I was even more Mad when I found out that she's currently 18 weeks pregnant with another child. (She's 27) Apparently her fiance was driving home from work on Friday and lost control of his truck. He was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.

I feel horrible for her, but I can't forget the fact that we are estranged for a reason. I can't and won't ever support the decisions she's made, but I feel that I have to do something. I know this is a heavy one, but does anyone have any advice/input?
I'm very sorry. No advice, I read that you are sending flowers. I don't think there is much else to do.

That is why you always pay with a credit card via paypal, that way when your card is blank you call your credit card company and do a charge back.
According to the TOS of Paypal, you waive your rights to credit card consumer protection laws if you want to use their service, and that you may not issue a chargeback for unauthorized use of your credit card and PayPal account, or if you do, then they have the right to limit your account.

This was about two years ago and I was much more naive then, so I didn't write down the gift card number before I sent it out. The person buying it claimed she was an older woman, but when I looked up the email address on myspace, it turned out to be some obnoxious college student in Texas. Bastard! Now I definitely know better.

Wow - all the horror stories of Paypal/Ebay. I'm starting to dislike them even more! hug for all you who've had to deal with that crud!

Don't think there is anything wrong.. Deals at Target lately haven't been too exciting, esp if you aren't looking for the toy clearance.. I haven't been in almost 2 weeks now. Of course, sad to say, I haven't cleaned the house eitherTeehee
LOL on not cleaning. I did do *some* cleaning today. I also took some time to take a walk, play with the baby, empty the sandbox turned swimming pool/mosquito farm, and do some other miscellaneous tasks. Hey - I did more than I realized I did today! bounce Now I don't feel as much like a lazy bum... lol.

Could (or maybe the better question is "Would") they really do that? Never would've thought of that.

Is there a free online fax service?

Oh wow, I am so sorry. I too am somewhat estranged from my sister. She has 3 kids by 3 fathers and she does not have custody of any of them. Add some drug and alcohol abuse to that as well as some kleptomania and you have the reasons why I had to sever our relationship. I have only recently started accepting her phone calls because she is finally starting to get her life back together (although she is also a compulsive liar so I have a hard time believing her). I think in your situation, if you have it in you to put your differences aside and just be there for her if she needs someone to talk to, it might be theraputic for both of you. I know how hard that can be though, so you should not feel bad if you are not ready to let her back into your life. I wish you and her the best of luck and hopefully this will be a changing point in her life. hug

Hey all! DH took the morning off and wanted to go to ST just to look around. I took my Qs but couldn't really shop with him and DS in tow. Plus there was crappy cashier selection. But I did notice that near the Healthy Choice mixers they now have those Chi-Chi microwave meals. Some of us have b2g1 Qs in size 16. I also noticed they are made by Hormel. Just thought I'd pass along that misc piece of information.

First of all yeah for bedroom furniture!!!

And we saw him today at ST. DH wanted me to buy him today, using no Qs, no GCs, no Overage, no Sale. I told him he was smoking the crack pipe, but I'd work on getting one for us (I mean getting one for DS). laugh out loud

LOL except I'm boycotting eBay and most especially Paypal after they scr.... messed me over. They tried to debit out of the wrong account not once, not twice, but 6 times before I closed the account. And yes, I called them each time to remind them that I had changed account info, they said it was notated and corrected. I had to repay over $100 in NSF fees on that old account. Mad So I refuse to use either service.
Ugh they did something similar to me. Instead of using my pp balance they paid for an auction from my bank account.

it still makes no sense to me. I had and still have a sizeable balance in my pp acct. It was a $3 transaction.

Thanks PP for dinging my score and giving me a $35 NSF fee.

I emailed them and they claimed I overrode the default to pay from the pp balance and chose my bank acct. Riiiiight...

My son loved him. I mean LOVED him. He looks for him now whatever T we are at. He's not really into the SW or Transformers (which I'm happy about) and I'm kind of surprised because his cousin is way into them. I'm trying to decide if I want to get it for him for xmas or try to score it on clearance after the holidays and save it for his b-day next year. I already have the SmartCycle from clearance last Jan to come from Santa this year.

We got green spike for xmas this past year. Granted my kids are still young, but they don't play with him all that often. They definitely like him, but it just isn't good for more than 5 mins of play time in our house. Frown
