-SDD and ram are low, but not hard to upgrade if need be
You pay dearly for more RAM and/or SDD space. This is the sweet spot at the moment
$309.99 - $200 Amex = $109.99

Does anyone know the nits of the display for this one?
Missing USB C compared to 14" $300 last month deal. 14" supports display ( I tried 2 external displays) and charging via usb c. That's huge plus for docking these portable laptop.
Also I read no backlit, and the 14" had 2 nvme slots, not huge deal but still it packed all those including 4 cell battery.
i3 is enough for most daily tasks including multiple resource intensive apps like OBS ( screen recording), iTunes, chrome with 30 tabs, zoom, Spotify, Mpc player, word, outlook, WhatsApp. I tried all these simultaneously and it was running fine without fan spinning all the time. I upgraded RAM -16GB module and WD570 nvme in my Dell 14" laptop.
While upgrading I also installed Windows 10.

How does this deal compare to the Walmart deal? https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/690478
I have this deal waiting for pickup.
My understanding is the Walmart has a pretty crappy display (which doesn't bother me). Neither has a usb C that will allow a monitor. Walmart has better processor and ram (though ram can be upgraded here).
Overall Walmart seems better to me, but I know just about nothing about computers (of course it's also "considerably" pricier percentage-wise).
I need a new laptop mostly to run Amazon workspace and the most intensive software would be light video editing (mostly snipping clips to make a video, no special effects)
Thanks

I would also say compared to my other 2021 laptops, i7-11390, Ryzen 5700 you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in normal use, i.e. non multi-core tasks. Yes, those are "faster" but there is nothing that would make me push it aside because it is deficient.
If there are problems, it's because Dell loads up crapware, like Norton AVirus etc. Just Norton can bring a system to its knees. The moral of the story is to update your drivers, debloat software and, if necessary, reinstall windows.

I get it, it's a cheap laptop, but if you want a functional windows laptop this isn't going to be a good buy
Edit: i see it has windows 11 s mode. Unfamiliar with that
IOW, utter low-end garbage and probably just a step above chrome books, which are always best left in the dumpster google stores them in before sale.
YMMV
