There are 2 slots which are quite easy to access. The bottom is easier to take off than other consumer laptops I have upgraded before. There is also a 2.5" SATA bay and cable that can run a second drive in addition to the NVME drive.
This is an excellent deal, for anyone with modest multitasking / storage requirements or who is willing to open the case (or have someone else do it) for a cheap upgrade:

-Full HD Screen, often missing in $300 laptops
-Most recent (11th gen) i3, which performs similar to 10th gen i5 in most tasks
-SDD and ram are low, but not hard to upgrade if need be

You pay dearly for more RAM and/or SDD space. This is the sweet spot at the moment
Tempted to order using my Amex Business Platinum $200 Dell credit.

$309.99 - $200 Amex = $109.99

How easy is this to open and add ram? Anyone have a link to compatible ram? I assume take out the 4gb and add a single 8gb stick?
Take about 8 crews out of the bottom.
Should have two slots so 8gb module will upgrade it to 12gb

While I know this generations i3 is probably better than many i7s from a few years ago, I would personally not buy one and expect it to last me more than a couple of years. I'd rather get an i7 and then as the years go by just upgrade the memory. The processor isn't as easy to upgrade.

Having said that, if you're in need of a short term computing solution, this is a pretty good deal but in a few years you're going to be wishing you had a more robust processor.

It will handle that with ease.

In fact, I would say if you are a "light" or typical computer user who doesn't do "heavy" multicore tasks like compiling code, video editing, etc. you might wonder why you would pay more.

Even "light users" can appreciate laptops with better screen brightness and quality, lighter weight, better build quality, and longer battery life.

I've bought 13" XPS and Spectre for those reasons, and leave "heavy" tasks for my MBP and desktop.

Funny how my Walmart Motile M142 with the ryzen 3500U for less than $300 from over 2 yrs ago is still quite relevant a great deal even now compared to whatever less than $400 available nowaday Wink

also the WM HP 15in with 4500U from well over 1 yr ago is still a kick ass deal!
