Just read through the reviews of the 4K quality of these discs and it's not as bad as the Bourne Trilogy but this is no where near as good as the Matrix Trilogy or Back to the Future, as this Planet of the Apes trilogy was only finished at 2K and only the third movie has Atmos (the first two are 5.1 and 7.1 respectively). But it's still ~$8.30 per movie at 4K with Blu-Ray and digital which is definitely a nice price! Just wish these were better 4K transfers

As much as I agree this trilogy's quality isn't great how it was "finished" isn't really the reason, how it was transferred is.
I agree Matrix & BTTF are better quality but not sure they are reference quality better.
Edit: kinda agree with quentin, BTTF isn't that much better.
I've been nothing but disappointed in the older movies "enhanced" for 4K. Price is good but I would rather pay less for standard Blu-Ray.

Check out Apocalypse Now, The Shining, Ten Commandments and Blade Runner. Great transfers on all of them.
I would add on the flip side take a look at War of the Worlds, it's native 4k and includes Dolby Vision. That transfer is not very good.
Having a good upscaling player I have no problem not upgrading from my BD disc especially if the movie only gets a PQ upgrade like The Shining & Ten Commandments.
Now if the 4K movie reaches the $8 range then I would bite, the PQ upgrade is worth it for that price.
I think I've only seen one of these movies, and sadly it was the one with "Marky Mark". I didn't expect the others to be much better after watching Marky Mark and his funky bunch.

That one was from 2001, and while it has some camp value, isn't very well regarded. This trilogy on sale here is a complete reimagining. They're actually quite good.

I'm surprised they were never remastered. I thought they had a decent following. Little bothered about 2 lacking atmos. I'm glad you called it out. I always assume they're all TrueHD w Atmos
