It wants a mobile phone number for the teen as part of the application process. Were you able to create an account without the teen's mobile phone?
So you do need 2 active phone numbers?

I put the landline # and it let me create the account. It's the same phone # that I use on my account. I don't give my cell # to them either. Uncheck the box that says it's a Mobile #. For the verification, I chose "Call this number" instead of Text, no problem.

What's a landline #?

I'm gonna do this for our 14-yo son. I thought about getting him an account back when they were offering $100 bonus accounts for anyone but it didn't have all the youth benefits.

I've had a Fidelity account for a long time, ever since getting their 2% rebate credit card. I like Fidelity a lot and if it weren't so much hassle, would move my Vanguard money over because I greatly prefer the Fidelity website and account reporting interface.
It's very easy to move from Vanguard to Fidelity. You can use their account transfer wizard or have a rep do it for you. Both are good firms.

Are there any rules that you can't make one of these for your fur babies? They definitely need to save for chicken treats!

Ugh. I tried to log in to my kid's savings account from when they established an account with Capital One in the past, but am not able to get past their 2FA. Seems like they changed their policy such that only one phone number can be associated with one login. So if you want to share one number for 2FA for your and the kids' login, then it's not going to work.

This is a dealbreaker for me, so I will continue looking.

Why even make it optional? My 11 yr old has had one (savings acct) for 7 years now... he knows that for Christmas and birthday money he spends half and saves half. He's got over 2k at this point and knows he can't touch it till he starts driving... even then it'll be emergency need only. Though we did give him alot of the money we got for him from stimulus money. His 4 year old sister is doing the same thing. Need to move them into money markets or something but I'm not overly worried about it.

You should consider something besides a savings account . With inflation approaching double digits, the interest rate you are getting is definitely not keeping up. ( Ally offers free managed portfolios , that could potentially return much better than a traditional savings account)
Especially if the money won't be needed. Just a thought.

I'll prob move money into money market... I'm not overly worried about interest as I am teaching value of saving and deferred enjoyment and emergency funds

I Bonds can aid in that. It would lock the money for 12 months in any increment $25+. The rates are insane right now too. Alternatively, could purchase EE bonds, but at the moment the inflation adjusted interest rates for I Bonds are crazy high.

Any idea how long does it takes to transfer? The market is so volatile,I dont want to make a transfer and then see market rally 5% in a week.
ACAT transfers usually take less than 10 business days but you can transfer "IN-KIND" so you don't have to sell your holdings in order to do a transfer....

Any eligible adult account without a hard pull? It looks like my 401k account doesn't qualify.
