You need to upload copy of their SSN card and another form of ID at the end for verification.
"To open and monitor your teen's account, you'll need to open one for yourself first."
I don't have an account with them.

I'd love to open one for my 9 month and 4 year olds to get the ball rolling while it would be even more meaningful. Guessing Fidelity doesn't allow that eh?

I also have a fidelity account so I can transfer $ to my kids account seamlessly. Kids don't spend much with cash these days, so the cash he got for his birthday.. I just put in my wallet and added the funds to his account. Plus he liked doing the finance courses that fidelity sent upon signing up. Made me laugh to hear him reading about stocks, bonds, etc. Pretty cool.

Did the Youth account get updated?
I dont recall these perks:
Teens can earn money by completing lessons on the financial basics—plus, they get 5¢ per debit card use and $10 for each friend they refer.5 Unwanted gift cards can even be turned into cash to save or invest.

Also there is a fidelity youth app?

Clever.... that could cause many immature young folks to spend more money because they think they are making money.

Why even make it optional? My 11 yr old has had one (savings acct) for 7 years now... he knows that for Christmas and birthday money he spends half and saves half. He's got over 2k at this point and knows he can't touch it till he starts driving... even then it'll be emergency need only. Though we did give him alot of the money we got for him from stimulus money. His 4 year old sister is doing the same thing. Need to move them into money markets or something but I'm not overly worried about it.
I'm in agreement. Don't make it optional. Teach them why you are opening an account WITH them. Explain why learning to manage money at an early age is to their benefit. This is about helping your kids and giving them the opportunity to learn, while providing some experience and guidance. My 14-year old downloaded the app and received her $50.00. I'm planning to transfer some money in and buy some stocks to let them hopefully grow for years, and let her see the benefit of passive income investment at an early age.

The $10 per referral is a promo that started on 8/28/23.
Not sure about the others.

And yes there is a youth app. That is what they sign into to manage the account.

It's a custodial account so once they turn 18 it belongs to them. They can cash it out and hit Vegas or hopefully they've learned about saving and investing and continue to do so.

Neither, buy FSKAX and let it ride.
Why not FXAIX? It has the same expense ratio and FXAIX historically is ever slightly better than FSKAX.

FSKAX, VTI, FXAIX: All tracking the same thing. I think any one of these is going to work out for long term investments...

Are there any good accounts out there for a 2 and 5 year old?
The best option, IMO, is a Custodial Roth 401K. Deposit and invest up to $6,500 per year, and the withdrawals and earnings are 100% tax fee. Your children could each realistically have $400-$500K at 18 y/o if you max it out yearly.
