The only thing wrong with it based on a youtube review is the TN screen with bad viewing angles. He was recommending to spend $100 more for anything with better ips.
...otherwise seems like very good specs at this 399 price.

I found this answer:
https://www.notebookcheck.net/R5-...596.0.html

Its a 6-core Zen2+ with updated GPU and SMT over the 4000 series.

Good lower power chip that offers a good bang for the buck.

It's about on par with i3-1125G4 (a bit slower single-core, a bit faster multi-core), so I wouldn't exactly call it "mid-tier".

It's more of an entry-level now.

According to cpubenchmark.net the r5 5500u score is 13,000 and the i3 is 10,000. So not exactly on par. The i3 is 4 core and the ryzen is 6 core

Is this not a repost? https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/690478

I bought the attached deal about 10 days. So far no issues. I've been using it strictly for Amazon workspace.

My only complaint is the webcam is pretty crappy. Proper lighting helps, but def worse than my other laptop.

As for the screen, I haven't noticed any issues. If you're watching movies I guess there may be an issue?… but for regular work/video calls it's great.

I have it propped up and use it with a monitor and I don't have. Any viewing issues.

The Latitude is built like a tank. Not so much this HP.

You may be better off checking Dell Outlet for a new Latitude.

According to geekbench.com, 5500U scores 939 single-core and 4387 multi-core, while the i3-1125G4 scores 1130 single-core and 3699 multi-core.

The i3 is 20% faster single-core, while the 5500U is 19% faster multi-core.

I'd call that on par. It all depends on whether you prefer 4 faster cores or 6 slower cores.
