Great price for a 6 core ryzen. Unfortunately, USB-C looks to be data only and the ram is 2x4gb so you'd have to replace both sticks to upgrade.

In 3 days, I wish PC manufacturers take these resolutions:
1. No display panels less than 1080p
2. No RAM less than 16 GB
3. No mechanical HDDs
4. No hard disk space less than 512GB
5. No keyboards without backlit
6. No USB-C without power + display

That's a different model. This is the correct link: https://slickdeals.net/f/15445516-hp-15z-ef2000-laptop-15-6-fhd-ips-ryzen-5-5500u-8gb-ddr4-256gb-ssd-369-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch

Judging by the reviews, it doesn't have a Backlit keyboard.

You could add 8GB but you would lose dual channel. Doubt you would notice the difference negatively. More DDR would most likely help more than lack of dual channel would hurt.

But better to just do two 8GB sticks and have dual channel.

So close to the I3's comming out I will just wait to see how good they are.

If you want to be cheap you can swap 1 4gb out for a 8gb and run with 12gb and dual channel for 8gb. Should be plenty for most users.

Just try to get the same timings of the 4gb chip, or better: same brand/model

Read up for more details for this CPU. The key takeway though is that "...despite being a part of the Ryzen 5000 lineup, Ryzen 5 5500U is a Zen 2 part, which essentially means AMD is selling its Ryzen 5 4600U under a new name. Still, Zen 2 is nothing to sneeze at, with its high performance-per-watt and impressive IPC figures."
