But better to just do two 8GB sticks and have dual channel.

Just try to get the same timings of the 4gb chip, or better: same brand/model

The key takeway though is that "...despite being a part of the Ryzen 5000 lineup, Ryzen 5 5500U is a Zen 2 part, which essentially means AMD is selling its Ryzen 5 4600U under a new name.
