Not a big fan but I know some folks here love these.

Saw these on clearance at my local walmart. YMMV of course. Happy hunting! $99 online. $84 in store.

These are fine speakers. Similar to the originals, but the Bluetooth implementation is horrible. No security so if you live in an apartment complex or something like that it's bad. Anyone can connect to them at any time without a code and play music, and all you can do about it is unplug them.

I was honestly relieved when the Bluetooth module finally died in mine after about 9 months. They've been great since.

So be aware of that if you buy them. You may end up wanting to disable the module some day.

From the reviews most people like the sound but not the fact that most say there is an annoying hum while wired or Bluetooth. That and you can't tun them off without unplugging it. And many reviewers (actually a lot) say one speaker will stop working. I see them for $64 around me but I really don't have the time to waste on speakers that have all those bugs and a probable short life. -and that's if the store definitely has them. Factor in brickseek and you can forget it. I'm out.

I can't believe they're still selling this scam. Want to know how trash these speakers are? It picks up a radio signal and you can listen to the radio!

Jeez.....still not as bad as dodge engineers not knowing what a steering lock looks like.

The speakers are also made with different material and looks different. A lot of people saying "it's the same thing" actually don't own both and is only googling specs. Yes the specs are the same, but that does not make it sound and perform the same when different (maybe higher quality) materials are used. If you really want to compare specs, look for sound out put specs. Don't listen to youtubers who only review one and compare the specs and says since specs are the same, they're identical and sounds the same.

So in my honesty, is it worth buying the THX over the BT? If the THX is $80 and lower yes compared to the BT at $60. But I will not buy the THX at $100 or more when you can get the BT for $60 or less.

Yeah, the included manual is B.S.

There appear to be numerous variants and changes over the years, so I don't know that they all have the same feature set with respect to the Bluetooth implementation.

For example, the one I just purchased from WM (manufactured in June 2021), if I have it set to use the 3.5mm jack connected to a computer, the Bluetooth isn't even enabled. It's only when you tap the volume knob and the LED goes from white to blinking blue (pairing) that it even shows up in a list of available bluetooth devices. If I tap the volume knob again, and it changes from blue to white, it disappears from the list of bluetooth devices.

So even if you don't want to use the speakers hooked up via 3.5mm, that toggle seemingly can be used to prevent unwanted connections to the Bluetooth.

EDIT: All in all, I'm quite pleased with the sound quality at the $64 price point.

Sup Chad. I'm near Philly. I did a test run on some prices on a few items because I was in the area. Walmart brickseek prices I have found to be very reliable, Lowes is very unreliable, and those are my two experiences.

I think the Bluetooth can be turn off but I'm not a 100% sure but if you press the volume dial in I think it can turn off the Bluetooth feature off.
