I believe its been this price for at least the past month if not longer. Actually think it has not changed price since they brought it back after stopping sales due to all the issues it had. (Yes, this is the model that best buy actually pulled off the shelves and stopped selling for about a month because of its problems).

You are correct that this was the model and it has been this price. The issue was with the "smart" features being buggy. I bought this model and think it has a great picture, but don't use the smart features as I just use my PS4 to stream any subscription services I have. I also heard they released some patches/fixes for some things, but I am not sure what they are for since mine isn't connected to the internet directly.
Says not available in my area and see no way to order online.
Yes there is a shortage of tvs. There are very few tvs in stock from budget brands like tcl, hisense, vizio. This might not be permanent but as it is now there is very little competition and sellers don't lower their prices.
Picked up two new 65" TCL 6-series models, both had the same glitchy software where the UI would hang for 5 seconds when I use the remote, even on the latest firmware. Returned both times. My lucky ass bumped into a flawless open box 65" Sony X90CJ (Costco variant X90J) at Costco for $865 out the door with 7-year all-state warranty (I have the Costco Executive Citi Visa card; effective 4% cb). Per Costco rep, Friday is usually when they pull out their openbox units for sale, especially this time of year cos of scumbags returning their Superbowl TVs lol. Super happy camper here.
