Home depot has the non-XPS DWS716 (https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../308351915) on sale for $299 (about $30 less after taxes). Worth the extra for XPS?

I have the XPS. I believe it's worth the extra $25.

I bought this a couple of years ago and paired it with the Rigid folding stand and absolutely love it. I've made a gate with it and my neighbor made a little cat patio (catio) and everything cut true and square. I was able to get pro looking results even though I have limited carpentry experience. The XPS shadow line is very handy as well.

Canceled the HD order and got the XPS version on Amazon [amazon.com] for $324.57.

Here is a great RIDGID MITER SAW STAND DEAL if you need one. FREE Shipping.

How does this compare with the Ridgid one (that also includes sliding)? https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGI.../306939244

Edit: sorry, I didn't realize this same question was asked above.

eh there's just no way i'd ever pay 300+ for a non sliding miter saw. I use that same ridid one all the time and it's a much better deal and for $5 more is a no brainer.

You can buy the parts to upgrade a saw.

Would the miter saw stand work with a table saw?

It's not designed for it, you could probably rig something up but at $150 you might as well just buy a table saw stand. They make rolling ones for around the same price too.

I picked up the dws 779 a couple years ago for like $300-$350ish, Fantastic saw!

The dws780 with xps is BIN IMO.

I actually picked up an aftermarket light kit to try out, here's a link for anyone looking to upgrade to the XPS:

https://www.mmtoolparts.com/miter...kit-dewalt

Also, the rigid stand that everyone is talking about here is amazing! Be warned though, hole spacing doesn't line up with the saw. The spacing on the stand is narrower than the saw hole spacing. I just bolted a piece of 3/4" ply between the two. Works great!
