I pre-ordered my phone (Order # XXXXXXXXXX ), and I noticed the trade-in price for my device went up from $600 to $850. Could the increased trade-in value be applied to my original order?

They took five minutes and said they would price match the current value and I would receive a refund within 48 hours."

I posted this tip on reddit and helped so many people successfully get price matched. Once they say yes, its pretty much a forsure refund after you send in the trade-in. Ive done plenty of trade-in price matches without issues. (I would get a yes from chat before i even send trade-in, and am told to come back when trades complete to get refund, locked in with ticket #)

Search s22 and GOS. They cheated their benchmark score

No go for me.

"I do understand that you want to have the price match currently with Samsung, as you have already received the pre order credit at the time of placing the order. Now as the pre order credit promotion is ended and the trade in has been increased that's the reason we're unable to honor the price match."

Congrats to those that got the extra discount. I'm jealous because I didn't jump on the initial deal as the trade in value was too low and $250 Samsung credit wasn't worth it as I already have too many devices (3 Samsung tablets, 3 monitors, 4 phones, 4 laptops).

I did go for the higher tradein value, so I can't complain getting $825 for my S20 Ultra (probably as good as it gets).

My thought is that it sucks to have a better deal come along, I sure would like an extra $250 credit, but I agreed with the original deal and Samsung is under no reason to give me more.
First reasonable response in this thread. I was happy with the deal I made on Feb. 18. I would have gotten $100 more based on the hiked TIV of an S20FE, but if they wanted to be pr!cks about it, I would be getting $30 less based on the reduced TIV of my other trade-ins. So I'll ask for the $100 when the time comes, but if they say no, I have no cause for complaint.

I like how Samsung copies Apple in every bad way (no SD card, no headphone jack, no removable battery), but then is decidedly worse in performance, battery life, and resale value.

I'd rather chop my arm off than buy a Snapdragon Series 8 Gen 1 chip.
Not worse in performance battery life or resale value. And way more capable than any iPhone.

Like you're living in an alternate reality. Yes they removed similar features but that was to add additional radios and battery capacity. Samsung is literally ahead of Apple in every single feature that Apple releases too so your comment is doubly nonsense

Same here. I received the exact same response from Samsung, and the representative was unable to provide me any offers (credits or discount). Sad Frown

I'm currently on rep #5. Trying to get this even as a store credit rather than the 5% off up to 50 dollars for my note 20 ultra trade in.

This is no longer working. As per Samsung agent:

I'm sorry to inform you, Samsung does not offer price match on trade in devices, as per the policies. But as a compensation I can offer you $50 promocode.

Thank you. Are you 100% sure? I am seeing the price match on trade-in was done for other users with the exact situation as mine.

Yes, I'm positive. There was a discrepancy earlier but as per the latest update, Samsung is not offering price match on trade in devices. I'm very sorry for that.

I was able to get the $50 refund after I asked them to cancel my order (still in processing). They said contact them again after the device ships and they will refund $50. I can't complain. After the $850 trade in and the $100 Google credit (which I will definitely use), I'm under $350 including tax for a brand new 256GB S22 Ultra after trade. I'm happy.

They made it seem like you had to use the $250 right then and there but in reality that was not the case. If you moved past that point it said they'd send you the credit via a code that you had to use within X amount of days of getting code. Think the code is sent once the phone is shipped as I've yet to get mine.
Yea... I noticed this too as it was frustrating trying to grt the buds and some charging pads as those were gkyin) flying and going out of stock. I realized later they let you get the credit for later usage. Hopefully it's on anything and I can use it on someone more useful like a hand vac. Still waiting for my credit, have had the phone for a week already.

Not after it's shipped. In your order status page it'll say when. Mine said up to 14 days after the phone is delivered. I got my phone over a week ago and still waiting for that credit.

You seem like an expert with price tricks so let me ask you this. I want to use my $250 credit for pre-ordering the S22U towards another product, specifically a Galaxy Book Pro 360. Last week it had a 40% discount for those with student emails and so I talked to someone from CS on the phone who took a screenshot, advised me to do the same, and gave me a reference number so once I get my S22U and then the $250, then they will honor that 40% discount for a Galaxy Book Pro 360. Well, the second iteration of this device was announced recently - the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 - so do you think there's a chance at all I could "mistakenly" order that one instead and get that 40% discount?
lmao no. Typing this from my Gen 1 GBP360, you won't miss the three upgrades for the difference.

Hi 👋! No matter what you are shopping for, we are here!
How can we help?
Hello I had preordered the S22 Ultra and did a trade in. I see that you are offering more money for the same trade in and wanted to see if I could be credited?
Our Trade-in Experts are standing by to help answer your question.
Please give us just a moment while you're connected.

I pre-ordered my phone Order #, and I noticed the trade-in price for my device went up. Could the increased trade-in value be applied to the original order?
No you'll have to reorder
Then cancel the original one
okay I have already returned my trade-in. Samsung already credited me 400 where the trade in price is now $625.00. So you are saying because I pre ordered I miss out on the additional trade-in value?
Sorry can't do anything apologize deals change frequently
Always appreciate Samsung's frequent changes of customer service!

No go for me either, congrats to those that were able to get in on this early.

They usually say yes theyll price match , heres a ticket ref #, contact us back after your trade is processed/completed to request the refund. Try 10 times
Samsung chat reps claims about price matching have made me waste many long hours multple times.
Chat transcripts, ticket ids, names, dont help the way you would expect from a reputable company.

Did not work for me. The first guy I talked to in the chat offered me $100 samsung store credit instead. I tried 3 other chats to see if they would give me the refund and they refused every time. Ended up not even getting the $100 store credit. Pretty brutal

Which would be a much bigger scandal if it actually mattered. AFAIK even the slowest SD8 Gen 1 phone is still faster (and more power efficient) than the fastest SD888's, even after you account for the GOS benchmark tomfoolery.

Also, from my experience, performance-wise, it's really hard to tell the difference between an 855 (e.g. s10e) and an SD8 Gen 1 (e.g. S22) in regular day-to-day app usage unless they are literally side by side. I have both, and I'm betting most people would fail a blind test in otherwise-identical (e.g. same refresh-rate screen), factory-reset phones.

Personally, the raw CPU speed alone hasn't been the reason I've upgraded a phone since like the Snapdragon 810. There's usually something else I want from the upgrade (e.g. battery is dying, out of space, better camera, os update support running out, etc.)
Switching back n forth between apps with recents button is slower than my S10+ even after going into developer settings and turning animations off there and in Nova. Also the camera stutters when first opening up and the shutter to capture photos isn't instant like it should be. Google the latter and there are many reports of users with the same experience which is unacceptable being a newer flagship.
