I'll add my 2 cents here since this information helped me on another thread. This device is more powerful than your regular Fire TV stick and Chromecast w/GTV. It may or may not be noticeable in everyday tasks but where I feel that it really shines is in streaming games from my PC to my TV. I get smooth 1080P streaming with no artifacts and no noticeable lag. I've tested multiple other devices and none of them was as good.

Can you wirelessly stream audio from a fire tv stick to your echos? I have a "home theater" setup with fire tv cube and 2 echos and echo sub all synced and playing together wirelessly from whatever I'm watching from my fire tv cube. It's so convenient in fact that I'm getting rid of my klipsch 2.1 setup in my bedroom

I got the impression that the cube is just better with it's own alexa speakers but my money is on the 4KMAX stick. It's been solid and now Prime is giving free games. Some say other controllers work, I just haven't tried and can't find the SD post

I am planning to use LAN only , so is that the reason why your iPhone videos don't work cause you use wifi ?

Oh, wow. Then it was definitely instant for you, which is rare. I have no idea what their criteria are for offering instant trade-in credit. Typically, as was the case for me, they have to receive your trade-in before you're credited the money, $3 for me as well, in the form of an Amazon eGC, and the 20% trade-in discount offer is enabled.

I was getting a lot of freezing with my Fire TV cube playing 4k videos on plex over a wired network. Switched to a Nvidia Shield and it plays very well. Realize that is a more expensive product but wanted to share just in case someone has the same problem.
