I'll add my 2 cents here since this information helped me on another thread. This device is more powerful than your regular Fire TV stick and Chromecast w/GTV. It may or may not be noticeable in everyday tasks but where I feel that it really shines is in streaming games from my PC to my TV. I get smooth 1080P streaming with no artifacts and no noticeable lag. I've tested multiple other devices and none of them was as good.

Can you wirelessly stream audio from a fire tv stick to your echos? I have a "home theater" setup with fire tv cube and 2 echos and echo sub all synced and playing together wirelessly from whatever I'm watching from my fire tv cube. It's so convenient in fact that I'm getting rid of my klipsch 2.1 setup in my bedroom

I've got a Cube from 2018 which has really sucked as it's laggy as sh!t, have basically written it off due to the slowness. Specs on new gen Cube shows upgraded processor chip so hoping this runs much more fluid than my current cube.
The old cube sucked the new cube is pretty good.

It is like comparing the 2018 Fire HD10 to the 2019 Fire HD10... IMHO, you can not compare the two cause the newer model is so much faster.

Have you tested against a nvidia shield pro? That is what I am using now and curious how the cube stacks up. I am happy with our shield but need something for an upstairs tv and wondering how this would stack up since it would save some money.
I don't have a shield pro to compare it to, unfortunately. I tested fire stick 4k, the latest chromecast and also a Verizon branded streaming device that's suppose to have better hardware but did not perform well. I should mention that I'm streaming 1080p at 30fps as that's what my projector is capable of showing.

Upgraded to cube over both 2018 and 2019 fire 4k and it's leaps and bounds better. The Lan port was a huge plus and the setup for those using a soundbar and wanting control with fire remote is considerably easier. Was having issues with Amazon music with older fire stick(s) and that issue seems to be resolved now. The 20% trade was instant for me and the $5 credit will come after I send my 2018 devise in.

Is this good for Luna gaming?
I played dmc5 over Luna using WiFi 5ghz and it was flawless. I couldn't even see the input lag. You mileage may vary depending on your WiFi but the hardware works well for Luna

There is a 25% rewards bonus for your credit card. Supposedly people are getting an extra 20% for trading in an old fire stick, which I set up but they are saying I don't get the 20% until they receive my device. Not sure how some people are getting it instantly?
Same here. Not seeing the 20% off for trade-in. Not sure if I want to buy it right now. The email seemed to suggest that the 20% will only apply to future purchase.

It won't let me get the 20% off until after trade in. I want to trade in my old cube but worries it won't be received and approved until the deal is over. I think I may ship mine in right before prime days and hope it goes on sale then

I don't recommend the Cube anymore as they tend to have problems with non-Amazon streaming apps: rewind/fast-forward causes it to freeze and re-boot in those apps. Also, for those streaming services with commercials, the Cube will also freeze and requires rebooting. I replaced all 5 Cubes in my house with Roku Ultras and haven't had nowhere near the issues I had with the Cubes. I'll probably sell the Cubes in a yard sale when it warms up.
Maybe you had Gen 1, I have not had any issues with my Cubes

All of you with trade-ins, it takes a while to get the credit, so ship it now and wait for the next time the Cube goes on sale. Worked for me!

I am interested in this as well. Can the cube replace the shield TV as a kodi machine for streaming 4k atmos hdr mkv?
I have both. In my opinion, nothing replaces the Nvidia Shield

I decided to go ahead and grab one for $56.74 after trade in and tax + the 25% visa points. I want to play around with the voice control since we can never keep track of a remote. I'm trading in an ancient first gen fire stick I am really surprised I still have it.

I can second this. The 2nd gen Cube is actually competing my previous gen Nvidia Shield in terms of performance. I believe the AD-oriented apps everywhere do drag the whole Cube speed down a bit though, the partental control on Fire TV devices is really nice implemented where the native AndroidTV handles it poorly.

What software do you use to stream your Pc to the Fire Cube?
Also do you use Wi-Fi or the LAN port for that?

I use Sunshine on my PC and Moonlight client on the cube. From there, I launch Steam Big Picture and I just add all my games to Steam so they're all accessible in one place. To add Xbox Pass games to Steam I use UWPHook.
I use Wi-Fi because I get better performance with it. The ethernet port on the cube is only 100Mbps. The cube is sitting within a few ft of the router so the reception is great.

Other apps such as Steam Link may be easier to work with. If you have an Nvidia GPU you can use Moonlight server instead of Sunshine. I also tested Rainway, Parsec and a few others but each had its own kinks and several gave me issues with my controllers (XB1 controllers connected to the Cube with BT).

Once your trade-in is appraised and accepted, a 20% limited-time promotional credit will be added to your Amazon account which you can then use to purchase a new qualifying Fire TV device. Limited time offer; terms apply.

Do not know why some people got the 20% right away but the phrasing here doesn't sound fantastic.
