I've got other brands that may slightly edge HyperX on sound quality. HyperX beats most, if not all, on build quality.

One minor thing to note regarding these and any headphones that simulate surround sound or spatial audio is that they'll break spatialization for some games. In those cases, you'd just want to disable the headphones' surround or spatial features and use them in a standard stereo configuration.

This is only a problem in the few games that already have a spatial mix, like Halo Infinite for example. Most games don't do spatial mixes, so it's not usually a problem. But if you stop hearing footsteps or gunshots from behind you, that's almost certainly the issue, and disabling the virtual surround will almost certainly fix it.

Good call! And while Amazon matched the price, this is still the lowest price we have ever seen based on our research as well as other price tracking sites on Amazon.

Almost exactly the same. The headband is a little different, they got rid of that little stitching on the edge. Also they don't have the extra set of fabric earpads. For the price difference I would go with these all the way especially with the USB dongle it comes with.

At this price it's definitely the thing to grab, it's way better than the stinger that's around this price.

Edit: Sorry guys. Big mistake. My comment below is referencing the Cloud Alpha S headset (read title wrong). The Cloud Cores actually sound the same as the IIs except they don't have 7.1. Honestly I don't even use the 7.1 on my IIs most of the time. So yea this is a good deal. But the Alpha S are poop. Avoid those.

FOR ALPHA S HEADSET- These sound like sh** compared to the cloud IIs. Idk how or why but they do. My buddy and I have both been using the cloud IIs for years and got these last time they were on sale and sent them straight back. I even called hyper X. It's the new sound card that makes them sound bad. If you don't use the sound card it sounds way better. Don't believe me? Buy them both from Amazon and send back the one you don't like

I've kind of been put off HyperX headsets. A few years ago I had a set which sounded decent, and I was able to wear it all day long for music and meetings. The non-replaceable cord eventually crapped out, so I upgraded to Cloud Alphas, and I absolutely hate them.

They don't sound great, but my biggest issue is comfort. The first pair had recessed speakers in the earpieces and nice soft pads. The Alpha's speakers are flush with the base of the pads, so they had to be firmer to hold your ears away from everything. Now they are awkward to wear, not comfortable for long stretches, don't seal as well, and stick out to the sides a laughable distance.

Maybe the Cores are better, but I'm not holding my breath. Now I just use my Sony headphones with a V Mods boom mic.

for big head people, like me. The core is smaller than Cloud II. it barely covers all my ears even at max adjust. debating if I should return it.
