Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Highly doubt the ASUS is DOA. probably needs some setting.

IIRC, someone here uses the M2000 with a GLInet mango something. And that worked.
Indeed it was. Tested with ethernet cable it works but very slow.
So, I am in process of return to amazon. Actually, I bought as refurbished one nut it looks brand new. I ordered last night brand new one LOL

Actually, I just tested the speed with USB tethering and am getting over 300Mbps down and 30 up.
When I connect with the2.4GHz wifi, I was getting only 30-50 Mbps/30.
Tested again with 5GHz and got over 200 Mbps down and 30-40 up.

Only options for 5G hotspot currently are Netgear M5 & M6 ($$$)
M6 is $310?

EDIT
But I guess it is locked.

I got my M5 locally for about half the retail price. If you're interested, I suggest checking offerup, Craigslist or Facebook marketplace.

Thanks, I might as well check around.

And the unlocked M6 model should be available to public this Fall.

M6 can already be unlocked now.
for people trying to get ahold of me please be patient it is hard to help so many and
I am just one person, it may take a couple of days for me to get back to you but I do respond
to emails and skype messages as I can. I am rarely here though. the invalid sim message is solved by factory unlocking the m2000 and its other variants, the factory unlock method was not known / found until recently but is now reverse engineered and working on all inseego / Novatel devices

try this
Code:
iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j TTL --ttl-set 66
ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j HL --ttl-set 66
the 1 should pass ttl & hl to all interfaces, while you using wwan0 only if there a modem on the device itself and only the modem.

to test if it work correctly
Code:
iptables -vL -t mangle
should see something like this
Code:
Chain POSTROUTING (policy ACCEPT 8318K packets, 5023M bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
8318K 5023M TTL all -- any any anywhere anywhere TTL set to 66
It worked. Thank you so much sir. Repped.

Do you know how to set TTL on the asus AC68U with stock firmware (either with the asuswrt firmware or the t-mobile ac1900 firmware)?
I put a script over the weekend and work good, below are instruction:
requirement:
Asuswrt-merlin with jfffs custom script enable
Both Spoof & Extent TTL disable
Code:
#!/bin/sh
set -x

# Apply missing setting.
modprobe xt_HL
modprobe xt_hl

# Main Rule.
check_home_internet () {
	if [ `ip route | awk '/default/ { print $3 }'` = 192.168.12.1 ] ; then
echo "Set TTL 66 for KVD21"
		iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j TTL --ttl-set 66
		ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j HL --hl-set 66
		logger "Set TTL for KVD21"
	else
echo "Apply TTL 65 for all other."
		iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j TTL --ttl-set 65
		ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING 1 -j HL --hl-set 65
logger "Apply TTL for all other."
	fi
}

check_home_internet
put that code into
Code:
/jffs/scripts/firewall-start
remember to give permission
Code:
chmod a+rx /jffs/scripts/*
restart service
Code:
service restart_firewall

you can try to apply the rule by ssh and test it with the command line.
Code:
 iptables -vL -t mangle
if it work, you have to do this every time the router reboot.
Because the router will reverse back to it default state.

I recently got the Small Business Internet plan that comes with a free Unlimited Tablet line currently. What hardware are you guys using to spoof a router/gateway as a tablet?

Also, I got the Nokia trash can for my Small Business Internet. Is that good? Any hacking or customizations can be done on it to expand capabilities?

I have worked with Rich Hathaway..... He has a custom FW for the m2000. Works great! Pulling over 700mbps with single digit jitter, and pings in the low teens to single digits.... He also cloned my iemi, so as far as tmobile goes, I'm using my tablet with all data reporting as on device.
Just following up almost 2 months later. Is your setup still going strong? Have you experienced any issues or data caps or data throttling? Thanks.

Everything is still working as promised, no data caps/throttling. Speed is still just as solid as well.
