Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

It's also far easier to do this with a SS # as a sole proprietor than an EIN.
via conversion ?

It's for the credit check.
If the EIN is used then it may be necessary to go to the store with the EIN company paperwork.

Will this work for Android head units that accept 4G SIM cards?

Currently running an Arc that I got for $80 from Metro($30/mo 5gb plan and TMHI $50 device/first month then don't renew and own gateway). I have it running to a Cudy LT18(overkill but had on hand from previous client deployment). TTL set to 68. Speeds consistently 300-500mbps on N41. I initially got the free tablet and a second line in March and have since added 3 more lines via TmoBiz FB chat using free sims from Apple Store. Transferred one of the lines to my iPhone 13 mini easily via chat as well and its working w/o issue.
you own the gateway after cancelling home internet service ? i thought tmobile requires it back or you get charged for it ?

Got it through metro. Current onboard promo is $50 device payment with free month of service so you are buying the gateway.

Why TTL at 68?

You need a voice plan to get that deal

Hence why I said it was an $80 Arc: $30+$50. Not sure initially tried the usual TTLs and was still leaking hotspot data. Found a post in the FB 5G Hacks group and tried 68. It has been working like a charm for 3mos

Do you know if there's a way to adjust TTL on the Nok 5G21 directly?

I have tested this after my hotspot speed throttled to 600kbps. Works like charm.

Windows Instructions
1. Open Powershell (Search Powershell).
2. type
Code:
python
to check installed or not (If its not installed, windows will open app store download it, once the download is completed type python to make sure its installed).
3. Download the zip file from https://github.com/parker-stephen...s/main.zip and unzip it.
4. go to unzipped location in powershell using cd.
5. install the requirements by executing command:
Code:
pip install -r requirements.txt
6. then run the bellow command follow the prompts.

example

Code:
C:\Users\\Downloads\TMOHS1-Root-Utility-main>python ./rootScript.py -v

Verbose mode enabled.

Enter your weblogin password:
Encrypting the login payload with key "abcdefghijklmn12" [yes, that's really the key]. . .

ensure that your device reconnects to the hotspot's network.

Sending the payload now!

If you are running the exploit wirelessly, the connection may drop.
Remember to reconnect to your hotspot's WiFi once it reappears.
This may take up to a minute.

Connected! Socket says: {'commit': 'Socket TimeOut'}

The exploit removed the root password of your device. It is STRONGLY recommended to set a custom root password.
Your device will be EXTREMELY INSECURE if you do not.

Would you like to set a custom root password? (Y/n):
y

Changing root password.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the password will be sent insecurely over telnet,
so you should manually change it later over ADB-USB if you are concerned about security.

Sent command via telnet: passwd root

Enter new password:
Confirm new password:
Root password successfully updated.
### Options ###
        1) Change root password
        2) Enough with this script BS, give me a shell!
        3) Enable ADB
        4) Enable ADB - Persistent through reboot (somewhat experimental)
        5) Enable FTP server for / on port 21 - DO NOT LEAVE OPEN
        6) Remove OMA-DM bootstrap (essentially disables firmware updates, recommended)
        7) Enable mood lighting (look at the battery LED)
        8) Mask hotspot data as "on-device" data
        9) Reboot
        10) Quit

        Enter option: 8
Sent command via telnet: echo "iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o rmnet_data0 -j TTL --ttl-set 64" > /etc/init.d/ttl.sh; echo "ip6tables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o rmnet_data0 -j HL --hl-set 64" >> /etc/init.d/ttl.sh; chmod 755 /etc/init.d/ttl.sh; ln -s /etc/init.d/ttl.sh /etc/rc5.d/S98ttl

Added TTL rules to mask hotspot data as normal "on-device" data. Will take affect on reboot.

Rebooting. Goodbye!
Sent command via telnet: reboot
Note: disable OMA-DM bootstrap by choosing the option 6
This is for the TMOHS1 device only.

If you missed doing #6 you can't go back and redo the above steps.

Will it work if the TMOHS1 is factory hard reset using the device pin hole or the software factory reset option, and then go thru the entire process again?

Try to open rootScript.py, copy and paste, run the commands manually

I went back and was able to do just step 6
You have to skip the previous part

Unfortunately not that I know of. You have to spend an extra $20-40 for a middle man router to change it. Unless someone figures out how to hack the 5g21

I just got mine - it's running on this SIM full speed ahead. I'm blowing out my 10GB of hotspot to make sure I can middleman router it, like you said. 2 bars is netting me 250MB speed.

Are you using ethernet or USB-C tethering to connect it to the router?

You don't have to. You can just check the usage on your account or the app. It will let you know if you're using hotspot data or not.

I currently don't have a working 5g21, but my last one I was using ethernet. I was getting 200-300+ with 2 bars but only on band N41. It kept going to the slower band though, and would drop to 100-150

I'm one of those unlucky guys who can't use the app to login. No idea why, but it looks like it logged in but then loops to the login page when I look at anything. So I can't tell any other way.

That's pretty sweet - what router did you have it plugged into? I assume an AC1900 or 68U?
