Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

If you already have a $10 line on your account, call 844-211-5308 and ask them to add another of the same. That's what I was able to do about 2 months ago without any issues. However, they could not add HDVPASS0 for some reason. But as others have mentioned, T-Mobile Business on Twitter/X added it with no problem.

If you're just looking to have a hotspot for the car, the Inseego M2100 is decent, though it doesn't have all of the 5G bands. But it's probably a reasonable option given its size, portability, and relatively cheap price. Don't get the M2000 though, I don't think that works at all.

I don't know much about the speed cap with HDVPASS0 other than what you already stated.
Thanks! I was able to call T-Mobile yesterday and get one more $10 data line with Samsung A9 tablet. I had to agree to 2 years of payment plan for the tablet (total $49). Rep is claiming that HDVPASS0 has been already added since my other 2 lines already have them. How do i check if my new line has it?

NIce! You can go to fast.com and check your speed. If it is around 2.5mbps, HDVPASS0 is not on your line. If it is 6+mbps, then you're good.

This plan has worked great as a secondary data-only option using a physical sim in a phone. Has anyone tried to move a line to an eSIM? Would like to upgrade phone, but now I understand that new iPhone 16's are eSIM only. I assume eSIM would work for a tablet, but not sure if this would cause problems using the plan on a phone. Thoughts?

Works for eSIM on iPhone. I have two lines in two different iPhones. I reached out to support via Twitter without any push back. Easy process.

Did they charge you for converting a physical SIM to eSIM?

What about going from eSIM to physical SIM or from eSIM to a new eSIM when we switch to a new phone. How does that work?

No sure. Have not had to switch since moving to eSIM. But, I can't imagine that it would be an issue.

If you have a TFB online account, you can actually update the IMEI online yourself. If you do eSIM to pSIM, you will need a new SIM card in hand to enter the SIM card number, but you should still be able to do that yourself as well. Or as others have mentioned, doing it through Twitter/X support is easy too.

What carrier do you use as your primary line? Is it helpful to have data plans with two different carriers?

I currently use Google Fi as my primary but only because I have a ton of credit with them. Im on their Flex plan. There data is expensive and also uses T-Mobile.

The best is US Mobile IMO, $10 2gb plan (unless they raised the price) . US Mobile lets you choose the carrier network. Put it on Verizon (or ATT) and then use TMO for data. This way you have backup data on Verizon if your in a bad TMO area. $2 extra per gig on US Mobile so if you go over its not that expensive but you most likely wont as you will use TMO for data. As a comparison Google Fi charges $10 gig for data which is a rip. After the credit is up Im probably a goner . Have enough credit to pay well into next year. In January when S25 is released I will buy it from them with their promo which requires 120 more days but I have enough credit to take me through that.... so likely next fall when by credit runs out I will switch back to USM

Samsung cripples the ability in the US at the behest of the big 3 to manage this properly (dual sim settings for calls, texts, data) but I work around it. I believe its easier to manage two sims from IPhone (and even Google Pixel)

I only have the tablet line as a carrier. I have a free google voice number that I use along with the tablet line. With this set up I am able to get voice, text, and data for $10.

What's the maximum number of hotspots I can run? I have a family plan of 3 lines, looking to get 8-10 hotspots.

Another EU trip and I've used up the free full flight Wi-Fi credits (8) on two lines, no issues.

Got data immediately on landing, absolutely no issues roaming through the EU, was able to use the voice and text of my primary line using the esim data line on this plan (Iphone 14 pro max EU model).

I hope they will never discontinue this plan, it has been super reliable and convenient.
