Just be aware you're probably going to need to miss another one to pay for the foundation damage this thing will cause when you turn it to 11, for science.

It was a cold night. The thought of War was looming in my mind. I knew I needed to prepare for the inevitable nuclear war headed our way. With the subwoofer under my bed I set up a random timer for it to go off full boar when I was sleeping. This was the best way for me to prepare for imminent destruction that awaits us. I wanted to prepare for the awaking a bit so I wore an adult depends diaper with flowers on it. Bam 3:04 AM rolls around I am awaked to the sound of shelling, I quickly shat my depends underwear. I awake to see the sub hasn't went off but nuclear war has come to my door step. I am writing this quickly because time is short. Tell my kitty I love him! Off to war.

I personally upgraded from dual Klipsch 12" R-12SW subs to dual 12" Monolith subs (the older version) and the Monoliths hit cleaner and go MUCH deeper. You can feel the bass now instead of just hearing it. And Klipsch basically was cutting off at 30hz. Now, the model of Klipsch you're asking about is technically better than the model I was using so the difference may not be quite as dramatic, but you're also asking about jumping up a size as well instead of moving to another 12". I'll say this much: moving from a 12" Klipsch to a 12" monolith was completely worth it.

2 different leagues. I have the Jamo J112 which is the equivalent to the Klipsch R 112SW, the Monolith absolutely crushes it in terms of output and depth.

You should be comparing it to the 10" version which is much closer to the $400 budget.

I suspect it would also be in a league above the Klipsch. FWIW I got the Jamo J112 for around $200 on ebay a few years back. Probably not likely to find that deal anytime too soon, but I would think $400 isn't that great of a price for the Klipsch R112 either.

In short yes...but its al relative

Check out the 10" and 12" that are on sale as well
They are closer in price and give you much more performance than the Klipsch

THIS
all day long...assuming you mean PB-4000

Now..if you look at a PB16 then that's more apples to apples in performance
