I was thinking of selling my 4k 60hz and using this for the hz.
GPU is 3070ti, so I'm not going to upgrade to a 4k 144hz, nor a 1440p 240hz.
I figured a 1080p 240hz is a sweet spot for the 3070ti.
Would really pull the trigger if the monitor was curved, but its small enough to not really need it and I like everything else.
Currently this is cheaper than a lot of 144hz IPS monitors on the market right now.
Any input to help me pull/notpull the trigger?

The joystick controller on the back is a first for me and I've bought many monitors.... but it seems to get the job done and it isn't too difficult to navigate the options.
I thought it was dim when I first got it (with brightness at 75%) but sitting in the dark it's plenty bright at 75% and you can turn it brighter. If you game or use the monitor in a bright room then it might be an issue but I'm guessing not especially because you can turn up the brightness. Because my son likes it dark in his room I'm sure this is not going to be an issue for him.
Anyway, the main reason I'm writing this review is that I was originally a little disappointed with the sharpness... but I later figured out it was because I turned on the dark stabilizer feature. Unfortunately it seems to negatively affect the sharpness and makes things look a bit off and more blurry than they should be... so beware of that. When I turned it off I thought the picture got significantly better (for general/productivity use).
I did read a review about the response time setting so I changed it from "fast" to "super fast" which is the middle setting.
I'll update this review if anything changes or I want to add anything noteworthy but so far I'm happy with this monitor.

I'm not sure if you are aware but the 3070/3900X combo is way overkill for that (this deal) monitor. I bet the frame rates are fantastic but that monitor is basically bottlenecking the system by being 1080p.
Oh... and I was fortunate to get him that 3070 back in Feb 2021 by being on EVGA's waitlist.... so I didn't overpay the crazy prices.

Gotcha...that makes more sense!

A 3070 should be fast enough to do 4K in some games. 4K or even just 1440P at a lower FPS is going to look significantly better than a > 60 FPS on this old school resolution. I have a 1080 Ti which is a little faster and I play most everything at 4K. 4K also makes videos look stellar. Netflix also gives users two choices 1Mp video or 8Mp video and the only way to see the latter is to have an 8MP screen (4K). 1080=2 mega pixels, 1440= 4 MP.

For example, I have a Dell S2719DGF which is a 1440p FreeSync monitor. I have G-Sync enabled on it and in most games in the settings, I enable V-Sync and set the max FPS to my refresh rate. This gives me a pretty flawless gaming experience as far as refresh rate/no screen tearing/etc goes.
3070ti in my research can only run 1080p in 240hz or 1440p in 144hz or 4k in 60hz. I am willing to downgrade from 4k 60hz because I'm tired of the low hz. I am also interested in the price of 1080p 240hz over flat 1440p monitors $300+.
I also just bought the 34" ultra wide from gigabyte as the price was a little higher. If I never saw the gigabyte deal, like his son is happy with 24" 1080p.. I am also happy with smaller screens if need be. I don't like 27"+ without a curve. 24" flat is the border of not needing a curve, but it def will help with immersion if available.
This monitor is the best bang for buck on the market right now. Everything else is $300-$1300. This monitor is a great choice as it's IPS + 240HZ, with a size that doesn't need curve. In our current market, there is no better deal than this. Besides the gigabyte 34" 1440p 144hz, that im now going to pick up at microcenter. Mainly for the curve and price. The resolution is irrelevant when you factor in bang for buck. Except my only rule is never get 1080p on bigger than 25" sizes. The pixels would be so noticeable.
