Great tool and great deal at $97 with ratchet hack, but get M18 if you are into both platforms. I have both and rarely use the M12, the extra power and stoke length of the M18 just gets jobs done faster.

I agree with this. My M12 Fuel struggles to cut pvc pipe larger than 2". 18v is a better option for reciprocating saws.

I didn't say it won't cut PVC. I said it struggles with anything over 2". It'll cut 3", but it takes forever compared to an 18v saw. If you're a homeowner, go ahead and take an extra minute per cut, but 18v is the way to go if you're cutting 3"+ all day.

The fuel is a great saw for use under vanities and kitchen sinks.
