This stainless steel grade is appropriate for bushcraft, quick and easy to sharpen when you need a fine edge and not too brittle to break on you in the field.
Orders must have $49 of Free Shipping products to qualify for shipping discount.
What is wrong with D2? It's not cheap and is excellent for knives. Dozier uses it on all his custom knives and It's known for durability and sharpness. I have several d2 knives and it rocks. It's a tool steel that has a long history of use and quality.
This specific SOG knife model and UPC exists (apparently) only on Midway's website and in a few eBay listings. It is not on SOGs website nor anywhere else on the web that I can find. For $13 I suppose it's good enough, but it's odd there's no other info (that I can find) on it.

They have a good selection of gun parts and ammo. I'd like a new charging handle for one of my rifles - maybe I have an excuse to pick one up now. I have a couple SOG knives, and they are decent quality. For $13, why not?
I bought four for my emergency kits. One for each. I collect fixed blade knives and you won't find a better deal. Would I plan to live in the woods for an extended period of time with this as my primary. No, but for an emergency kit. Absolutely.

I'll try it. SOG does a lot of stuff right and a lot of stuff wrong. It may just end up in the drawer of unused knives... along with the few other SOG on-sale items added to get to free shipping. I'm an idiot.

It does make excellent knives... It's a tool steel. It is very difficult to sharpen however, which is something important to some folks, especially bushcrafters.

D2 is actually very inexpensive in China right now, about the same as 440c, which is why it is so popular all of the sudden. It is a great steel for an edc but as others noted 62c is difficult to sharpen with any old stone, and it rusts fairly easy. The high hardness makes it more brittle, and bushcraft knives need to be able to take a beating.

I'm not comparing the 2. But I love my Mora.
