Super good deal on this Blue Microphone. The MSRP on this is actually $199 according to other major retailers. If you're a Musician's Friend member (which is free to join), it'll be $128 after you add it to your cart. The purchase also nets you about $10 in Rewards points for future use. From my research between this Spark SL and their $299 Bluebird SL model last summer is that you pretty much can't discern the difference between sound captured by the Spark and Bluebird.

Great mic for a great price. However I do believe it is a bit overpriced at MSRP for general uses if you just want a good sounding mic. It has a pretty distinct tone so I recommend people listen to some demos. It's one of my favorite sub $200 mics for the tone it has.

At the member price I'd be surprised if you could find something better regardless of brand. I don't know that I've ever seen them this low.

Also for anyone new to mics, remember this is XLR. That means you'll need an audio interface. They range from $30 to $1000s. I'd recommend a good $100-200 interface(Motu is what I use). However, I will say, the cheap Behringer models aren't bad at all for a no frills interface. If you don't get a dud, they sound just fine.
