Just be aware it's priced this low because the 6900hx/hs is right around the corner, and if the idea of having more than double the battery life for browsing, streaming, and productivity is appealing to you, you should wait.

No body wants a gaming laptop

Performance is too weak comparing with desktop counterpart.
They're not that really portable
Gaming does not have the urgent need to work on the go like business does

So what is the point of gaming laptop? Go with steam deck or a decent desktop.
Excuse my rant

Any reviews? Need a laptop for general browsing and some ML projects. Comparison to 12th gen i7?
Your dealing with DDR5 with the 12th gen Intels a 200-400 price increase over the 11th gen and 5900hx and up. The 5900hx is a i9 11th gen competitor, this should be great if your using a CPU intensive ML project, but the AMD 6800m is not as good as an Nvidia counterpart, if your using the GPU intensive ML project. You should try your projects out when you get it to see if your good with the speed of your results. I wanted to go with the this deal, but found a deal on the Lenovo Legion Pro for 1169 with the 5800h and a 3070. I liked the 1440p screen and the reviews on it had it as one of the best gaming laptops of 2021. Checkout VIPoutlet, they have them at that price on the regular it seems. I upgraded the RAM to 32G and added another 1TB M.2.

lol, I just recently got a gaming laptop and have the Steamdeck on preorder. I am hoping someone comes out with one with the newer 6000 series mobile chips. I do like the steam deck, its better than a Switch, but it needs a little more power to run newer games well. I was getting it for emulation purposes. The 15watt chip keeps it running on battery for a while, but a 30-45 TDP do great in games. Cooling would be the biggest issue. I use my gaming laptop for work and play. I wont be spending 1500+ for one though.

Improved battery life, yeah. Over double? No way. Half of battery drain is the screen/wifi/ram etc.

Is VIPOutlet reliable? I've never heard of it before

Do apple machines not have screens, wifi or ram?
This was from results of LTT testing of 4k youtube streaming of the same model laptop. https://youtu.be/oyClS3qQV10?t=378
Just under double, whoops.

LPDDR4/5 uses 2-3 watts maximum, wifi modules are limited to far less than a watt.
A laptop display that's <17 inches uses 10-15 watts at max brightness which is a far cry from the draw of a cpu.
With how much of its performance the 6900 retain at low wattage [youtu.be], cutting back by 20-30watts of cpu power on light workloads is more than feasible.
